Allegro by Adora Bennett

The only African American vice president at one of Boston's hottest ad agencies, Jada Green is at the top of her game. She's 45 and single, but she's living life to the fullest.
Luca Alessandri, the strikingly handsome president of Allegro, an Italian commercial design firm, is looking for an ad agency to help craft his company's image in the US. When they meet, they are both thrown off balance by their instant attraction.
Jada knows there can only be trouble getting involved with a potential client, so she faces a real dilemma when Luca starts pursuing her with a vengeance.
Their romance takes them from Boston to the Alpine beauty of Torino, Italy and back again as they learn about each other and struggle to balance their careers, friendships, jealousies . . .and threats from vengeful colleagues.

I absolutly LOVED the fact that Jada and Luca was a polished and mature couple. We need more romance books ( interracial and other genres) that have more "seasoned" charachters. HOWEVER, Luca just left me kind of "empty". For being an older ITAILIAN and Corporate CEO, he was just TOO PASSIVE for me. For being a businessman, I needed him to be more AGGRESIVE, POWERFUL, STRONGER and less meek? Love that fact that he had a great relationship with his parents. BUT at times, I thought he came across as "SOFT" and childlike. I despretly NEEDED LUCA to MAN-UP lol. One thing that drove me BANANAS, was the private plane thing. For a 50 yr old WEALTHY President of his OWN FAMILY COMPANY CEO to say "this was his first time in a PRIVATE PLANE, was LAUGHABLE? And Jada too? Come on now? Really? I subtracted MAJOR points for that because that was just ridiculous. For that, I can only give the book 3 stars. But it was a good read.

This was an enjoyable Adult romance story. There is no over-the-top sex scenes in this book, which was a very nice change. Interesting characters and great storyline. Good read.

While so many IR romance novels seem to be a little one dimensional these days, this story really dove into the lives of the two main characters--Jada, an ad exec and Luca, a wealthy businessman. The book gets into their work lives, their friendships and their challenges as a couple as well as their passionate romance. I enjoyed the relationship between Luca and his father as well as Jada's very funny best friend, Katrina. The book is a page-turner because the writing is so engaging. It's hard to put it down. Definitely a good read!

The problem with authors today is storylines that's way over the top. I loved this book for many reasons... But one of the reasons is the fact that I'm in my forties and this book is relatable. A man in his fifties doesn't have anything to prove and therefore he won't be going around beating his chest... I loved Luca... He wasn't weak he was a real man that was sure of himself. Strong where and when he needed to be. I loved Jada... She represents strong black women. Keep writing... So many of us readers get so caught up in these over the top unrealistic alpha males... As woman that's been married many years happily to a Luca this book was truly refreshing.
