My name is Ai Ishikawa. Sorry my English is not so good. I read this book to help learn English. Also, it has very good story that I see around me here at home. My friends at school are always worried about succeeding. This story is like that and shows how friendships can be disrupted. Moral is that you don't have to be best, you just have to give your best. I also read "Gabby, Lost and Found".

"Allie, First At Last" is the second offering from author Angela Cervantes. While Cervantes' first book, "Gabby, Lost And Found" touched upon how immigration policies affect children whose only crime is that they are offspring of undocumented immigrants, this second book tackles another important issue that affects many children all over the world. The need to succeed can be positive but also has a negative side to it. Allie experiences the negative side; her push to be successful alienates her friends and family. This is a must-read for anyone who feels the pressure to succeed.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how family takes priority in her life, especially her great-grandfather. She learns that competition can drive her friends away. The ending is good in that she learns that her friendships and the love of her family are more important than winning all the time.

I kind of like this book but the words in it are a little bad
