About the Author

A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking - and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writer's meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and finaling in the prestigious Golden Heart Contest, Chris has penned five contemporary novels and now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion and plenty of surprises - and of course - the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

Finding out you have a son when he's 5 years old has got to be a shock. But how can you be mad at his mother for not telling you when she's dying? When Patty Anne knows she's dying, she gets her lawyer, Kara Lynn O'Conner, to find Nick Harper so she can tell him about his son. After Patty Anne refused Nick's proposal years earlier, he couldn't handle a relationship so went through a lot of women without commitment. As a former Navy diver, he bought a dive shop with a friend in Hawaii. This is where Kara Lynn found him and told him Patty Anne wanted to talk to him. He got quite a shock seeing Patty Anne after so many years and learning she was dying. Then the news that he had a son sent him into a tailspin. He didn't know anything about children. How was he going to take care of Bradley? Lucky for him, Kara Lynn had been looking after the boy while Patty Anne was ill so he could rely on her. For a while anyway. His plan was to take Bradley back to Hawaii with him. But before that happened, Nick and Kara Lynn became close, with sparks flying. This author's creativity and ability to charm her audience are put together in a well-written package that you won't be able to put down. Not only is this an incredibly crafted story, but it is also a hard-hitting tale. This novel is so much more than just your typical romance, and the romance itself is wonderful without detailed bedroom scenes.

Emotionally filled read with a spurned hero, a anti-romance heroine, and a cute boy This was an emotionally filled read with and ex-navy diver, Nick, a young bright attorney, Kara, and a small package of sweetness, Bradley. There was so much within these pages that kept me turn to the next, then the next chapter, and then I was at the end. Nick was the man that cut himself off from every loving again. While Kara was the young lady that had yet to really live before things changed for her. Then in walks Bradley. He changes everything for both of them. Which in turns changes things for him as well. There are a host of characters within these pages that makes for an interesting connection.

Great mix of romance and mystery. The negatives imo are the grammer, punctuation and epilogue issues. The epilogue moved the story way too forward. There was still alot of story to tell either to make Aloha Texas longer or better yet have it in book two.
