When Trish Muffet is attacked at a grisly crime scene, the last person she expects to come to her rescue is Nicky “Little Boy” Blue. But since walking away from everything two years before, Nicky’s been doling out vigilante justice as “The Spider,” taking on the vicious predators of the night in hopes it’ll lead him to his ultimate target – Vlad Dracula. And he needs Trish’s help. Although Nicky’s renegade style goes against everything Trish stands for, she’ll do what she must to bring Dracula down. With danger stalking her, Trish knows the only person she can count on is the one man who has the power to leave her breathless. There’s no way she’s letting this spider frighten her away… Review: Kate is the Queen of the Faery Tale world! I was so glad when Along Came a Spider came on Netgalley that I had to rush and get my copy. This is the third in the Transplanted Tales series and Kate is still keeping me hooked on all the characters. I love how she weaves tales and literary characters into riveting stories and gives us a fresh take on them; the Three Little Pigs as hit-men, Rumpelstiltskin as a jeweler, Snow White as a Madame of a brothel...just to list a few. The dialog is first rate and at points was making me laugh out loud! This book is Trish Muffet and Nicky Blue's story, though we started seeing their unrequited love in the previous books. This, one kept me on the edge of my seat with them trying to figure out who is behind the killings and the haunting of Trish by, oh get real I am not going to tell Trish really do compliment each other and so glad they got their own story. This book has the whole package and well worth taking the time to read, I think you will be as hooked as I am! I know this can be a stand alone book, but I would suggest reading the others in the series. There are some nuances that you might miss and because they are great in their own right. And for those who like me, are addicted to this series Kate announced the other day we will get a novella and a book next year...I will be waiting anxiously :)
