She is the former president and founder of the Calumet City Historical Society, and a member of the American Association of State and Local History, South Suburban Heritage Association, Calumet Heritage Partnership, Kankakee Valley Historical Society, and Calumet Ecological Park Association.

The book is easy reading with a general timeline beginning in the early 1800s. Very good for the coffee table.
