Alpha Wave immediately throws the reader into the plot and gives them good cause to keep reading on every page. The contemporary setting and use of both old and new pop culture references make the book very accessible to many kinds of readers, while the mysteriousness of various events that unfold drive the reader onward. The book alternates views between protagonists, giving the story depth as well as enhancing some of the more mysterious elements therein. Be prepared to sit for a while, because this book will keep you reading. An impressive submission from a new author, I'm genuinely curious as to what's next to come.

Alpha Wave is a fantastic sci-fi /suspense story from a newcomer. Once you start reading it is is difficult to put down. Many stories are based on lots of description of scenery, and sometimes that can slow down a really good read. Not this one. The description of setting and characters is adequate, but action and dialogue is what keeps the pages turning. The premise of the story is that the main character Ally drops out school, leaves home and finds herself in a mysterious mansion where the guests are unable to leave. Dangerous traps lurk around each corner that kill without mercy. The deaths, although gruesome are not permanent though. Upon her arrival John informs Ally "Well we do die...but then we come back." It becomes quickly obvious that Ally is different from the others residing in the house. The characters are likeable and as I was reading found myself actually rooting for and against them. This is important to me in a book. Many established authors write interesting stories I still have difficulty with when I can't identify or feel for the characters. I still believe that some of the characters could have been fleshed out more without giving away the plot. I would recommend this to teens and adults who like the Sci- Fi thriller genre. I could easily see this adapted to television. I also suggest you pick this up and find what becomes of Ally, and the secret behind this mysterious mansion. I hope this is the first of many stories to come from this young writer.

I'm not too big on reading but I couldn't put this book down. I got through it in 2 days and enjoyed it quite a bit. The story is fairly original and I really liked the ending. At the very least it's worth checking out.

This is a marvelous debut from a new and gifted novelist! A total page turner, filled with suspense and highly developed characters! I am very much looking forward to future books from this writer. Here is the synopsis for the novel: After dropping out of college and running away from home, a young girl named Ally finds herself the guest of a mysterious mansion. The building's interior may seem beautiful but it houses a dangerous history that John and the other guests must keep hidden. Dangerous traps lurk around each corner that kill without mercy. But the deaths of each victim although gruesome are not permanent. "Well we do die. but then we come back" John informs Ally upon her arrival. The stakes are raised when it becomes apparent that Ally is different from any other guest before. But will this difference ultimately result in her death or escape? Pick this book up and enjoy Ally's adventure!
