Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden by Eva Gordon

Mia's testimony against Russian mobsters forced her to enter the witness protection program. She is relocated to a quaint cottage in Wolf Woods, near Mt. Rainier, far from everyone and everything she loved and cared for. All is calm, until she meets Dominic, the gorgeous ruggedly handsome owner of the mysterious Wolfe Estate. He is all alpha male, domineering, and controlling. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a sexy control freak.

Alpha werewolf, Dominic Wolfe, is the packs' enforcer. When an attractive young woman moves into a cottage near his territory; his senses are heightened to obsessive proportions. A human pet to meet his desires.

Dominic is determined to unveil Mia's real identity while keeping his own securely hidden. Haunted by the howls and shrieks coming from Dominic's estate, Mia wonders if she can really trust the enigmatic man she suspects of wanting a dominant-submissive relationship. A man who brings out her darker desires. Will hidden danger keep them from gratifying their burning passion?

This story kept me listening. It is part of a trilogy so does not actually end, but it has a satisfying ending "for now". Mia has lost so much but she has not completely given up which I really liked. Dominic is a strong alpha trying to balance his wants and his musts. He is protective of Mia from the start and I enjoyed the story as they grew closer. I look forward to the rest of this trilogy. This audiobook was given to me as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

I really enjoyed this different take on werewolves. But OMG did he have to call her his Pet...I mean I know its like code for mistress but really.....that took some getting used too. Fun quick read but cliffhanger ending

paranormal, urban-fantasy, werewolves Unusual perspective on werewolf culture and practices. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I am offended at a person being spoken of as a pet. Some of the disciplinary practices regarding rogue werewolves seem cruel without being decisive. Aside from all that, the imagination is stellar, the characters are engaging, and the writing is very good. Plan to read the rest of the series.

I'm writing this as a review of the audiobook and also reading the ebook during some of the story since I have both. the narration was great. I felt like I was a part of the story. The narrator helped bring the story to life. This also made some parts even scarier and some parts so hot I almost had to pull off the road while driving. lol. This author really knows how to tell a story. I loved it. I don't know if I could handle being Mia and having to try and hide away from the mob and also my family. While I know readers always look for different takes on wolf shifters but sometimes come up with them mostly being the same, I have to say, this book had a really great presentation of it. I loved how Mia would stand up to Dominic's neanderthal alpha ways. Sometimes he was like a spoiled brat. She never hesitated to tell him what she thought. I'm sure she can help put him in his place. I'm curious to see if this story continues letting us know how their relationship grows. I won't spoil anything but there's things I would like to know. however, this didn't end on a cliff hanger. And before I close, I want to say, the villain was so awful. at first I sort of felt for him but in the end, I wanted him to suffer and pay. Now I wonder about the king. Will he follow the law or will he bend it to suit his desires?

I just finished reading ALPHA WOLF'S PET by Eva Gordon. I liked the story and the characters are interesting. Ms. Gordon gives the reader a unusual take on werewolves and their different roles in the pack hierarchy. Which makes for a interesting twist to the story. The male character - Dominic- is a very alpha, alpha werewolf. By that I mean everyone jumps to do his bidding as if they live only to make him happy. Everyone except of course Mia, the main female character in the book. Mia is strong. brave and willful. The perfect match for Dominic's domineering ways. If I had to list anything wrong with the book I would say the narrator. I didn't like her way of reading it at all. I will give her credit due in that she was able to give each character a different sounding voice. But the attempt at male voices really was awful and she read it in a way that it got confusing at times as to whether something's were said out loud or were just the characters thoughts. That being said - The book is worth reading if you like paranormal romance books. I really liked it and I look forward to reading the next one when it comes out Good job Ms. Gordon ! Thank you Ms. Gordon for the free book and the chance to review it for you.

My first read of Eva Gordon's but not my last! This book held me captive from start to finish. Hot chemistry between Dominic and Mia leads to explosive sex! Secrets that could get them both killed adds mystery to this romance. A rogue wolf tests their love for each other. I can't wait to get into the 2nd book in this series. If you like wolf shifters, then this is a story for you!

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Eve Gordon.  Mia is in the witness protection program and is  hiding from the Russian mob when she settles  into a cottage in the mountains. Dominic Wolfe is an enforcer for the pack and when he spies Mia he wants her but there are rules he needs to go by. Both have secrets that could destroy them 1 way or another. I enjoyed the characters in this story and the plot. The story line flow was very smooth. This is for mature paranormal romance book readers because of sexual content and adult language. I can't wait to read book 2.

Thoroughly enjoy the book and I look forward to Alpha Wolf’s Pet; Kept, Book 1 Mia’s character is admirable because she is not constantly crying and acting like the poor me girl. She is portrayed as strong though she does show signs of being submissive to Dominic. The author also strengthens her character by having Mia not giving in to every command or demand of Dominic’s. This is a win-win for me, as I seriously do not connect to passive submissive heroines. Now hot, sexy, dominating, huge Alpha werewolf, Dominic Wolfe, is every girl’s fantasy. I love how strong he comes across and how protective he is of Mia. Once again the author did a great job with this character by portraying the packs’ enforcer as strong, fair, and merciless while on the other hand protective, loving, caring and passionate for Mia.  One thing I will have to admit that turned me off a little was her being called a “human pet”. Once I got over my knee jerk reaction of the phrase I thoroughly enjoy the book and I look forward to Alpha Wolf’s Pet; Kept, Book 2 A COPY WAS GIFTED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!! ***Received the ebook for an honest review The cover is awesome and very intriguing for those of us who love weres :) This is an adult book with some very steamy adult scenes and even a little bondage.  It is about 130 pages. Okay the book was a great read, but I’m reserving judgment on this pet thing.  Right now I’m on the fence, and I have some secret wishes that I hope happen in the next book or at some point in the series because I’m assuming this is a series (not sure though), but we will see what actually happens :)  I hope when the series continues that both Dominic and Mia are part of it :) Mia has strength of character that I adore.  I love strong women who stick to their morals and won’t let anyone corrupt those morals.  Dominic what to say, he is Alpha male through and through.  I really don’t want Mia to just be his pet, but this is just my feelings and opinion :) The world Eva created is definitely a unique shifter world.  This is the first book I’ve read by Eva, and I’m not sure why I haven’t read her before because I think I own a few of her books.  I think it is just life getting in the way.  I’m definitely going to read more of her work, and really hope this is a series because I need more :)  Thank you for sharing your book with me Eva :)

Mia’s life has been forever altered, all because she bravely helped put key members of the Russian mob behind bars and they are determined to seek revenge. Now in the Witness Protection Program, she has been hidden away in a remote area in Wolfe Woods. Uneasy with the isolation and all that the wilderness has to offer, meeting her handsome neighbor, Dominic Wolfe is like a kick-start to her heart as the mutual attraction heats up. Little did she know Dominic has a well-kept secret, more astonishing and dangerous than her own. Dominic is an alpha werewolf, an enforcer, a deadly killing machine, he is the hand of justice in the wolf community. Meeting Mia unleashed Dominic’s protective nature, but wolf law will not allow him to do any more than “own” this little human. How does he tell Mia what he is? This gutsy woman finds comfort and a renewed passion for life in the arms of this mysterious, yet powerful man, but danger is still lurking and biting at her heels. As strong as Dominic is, Mai fears for his life if he gets too close, should she tell him who she really is? Obviously, it takes an accomplished author to almost melt one’s eReader in just a few well written pages. Eva Gordon is an accomplished and talented author and her latest novella, Alpha’s Pet, Hidden is chocked full of intrigue, secrets, sigh-worthy romance and spice. Ms. Gordon manages to tell a brilliant tale in a world of her own creation with characters that almost breathe, they are so full of personality. Are you looking for an adult, romantic paranormal read that will give you a good cardiac workout? I guarantee this is better than a good cup of coffee to wake you right up!

Literature Litehouse Review for: Alpha Wolf’s Pet (book 1) novella This story is a novella about 130 pages. The story has well developed characters have great depth. Eva Gordon does great with getting to the point and not dragging the story out or repeating. I am looking forward to reading more from Eva as she develops the series. Overview: Mia is in the witness protection program. She has put the Russian mob behind bars, but his team is out to get her. She has been moved several times since they keep finding her. The government has moved her to a country cottage in Wolfe Woods at the base of MT. Rainier. There are very few people in the area and the town is 20 minutes away. Her closest neighbor is Ellen, a sweet old lady who lives off her land. She makes goods for everyone. Dominic Wolfe is the alpha of his pack. He is known as the enforcer or the “Top Dog”. He retrains bad werewolf’s or puts them down if they don’t follow the rules. All was good with Dominic until he ran into the new neighbor Mia. She was beautiful and she called to his wolf. But he is not allowed to mate to a human. He is only allowed to take them as a pet. He is willing to do just about anything in order to have Mia. But when he finds out how much trouble she is in and about her real past, he decides that he must protect her at any cost. But will she be willing to sign the contract and be willing to be his pet? Mia and Dominic have an explosive relationship. He helps her by giving love, family, and protection. Mia helps Dominic by finding his feelings and allowing him to show the real him when the laws tell him that he can’t show weakness. Both make each other better and create a balance. Can’t wait for the next book. Reviewed by: Kristy Dean (8/2014)
