About the Author

Traci Andrighetti is a writer, literary translator and Italophile. If she's not working, Traci is probably watching reality TV, eating Tex Mex or sampling fruity cocktails, and maybe all at the same time. She lives in Austin with her husband, young son (who desperately wants to be in one of her books) and three treat-addicted dogs.

Entertaining mystery and laugh out loud humor.

Sometimes hilarious, sometimes slap-stick, Amaretto Amber has found the perfect setting in the amazingly eclectic atmosphere of New Orleans. No where else in America is one more likely to find someone seriously considering voodoo and witchcraft as the possible cause of death in a murder case. Nor is one as likely to find Italian grandmother's side by side with septuagenarian strippers. In the midst of this dichotomous hilarity, the search for the killer of an ex-stripper is a seriously complex case for Franki Amato who has no clue how to handle the Italian grandmothers or the over the hill stripper. While Franki may be starting to believe that the disaster of her 30th birthday and everything that followed is the result of a curse, not that she believes in all that stuff, but I have been following her since the first book, and let me tell you, her whole life runs a little crazy. If you love zaniness along with your mystery, this current Silver Falchion Reader's Choice Award nominee is just the book you are looking for. I won book of choice from the author during a recent facebook party. The review and its contents are my choice and my thoughts.

I love Franki Amatto. This is probably the funniest of the series as well! Franki has to go undercover at a strip club. Not only does she meet strippers, she is immersed in the world of withcraft, voodoo, hoodoo, drag queens, and little Sicilian grandmothers! I laughed out loud so much at this book! I am not a huge fan of Bradley, but he is a good guy. I would start at the beginning of the series and read them in order just for the enjoyment!

Life for Franki Amato is eventful. She is an Italian American Catholic private investigator who is living in New Orleans working on a new case. Dealing with curses, a sixty something ex-stripper landlord, murders, voodoo gods, a sugaring business and a surprise visit from her mom and grandma her life becomes unpredictable and crazy. This is a fun story that will keep you guessing to the end. It is part of A Franki Amato Mystery series but could easily be read as a stand alone.

Look out world, our enchanting, uproarious leading lady is celebrating the big three-o! Yes, our gal, Franki Amato has entered her third decade and she is not feeling celebratory at all. Again, look out world…and readers. Andrighetti’s Franki Amato series gets crisper, smarter and wittier with each installment. Her storytelling skills are superior, her characters are so vivaciously sketched they jump off the page, her dialogue is authentically carved, her setting is accurately designed, and the way she delivers a mystery is brilliantly sculpted. Andrighetti’s third outing cements her firmly as the newest heir to the comedy mystery throne. In fact, not since 2002, when Laura Levine released This Pen for Hire, has there been a mystery scribe who impeccably fuses the flawless mix of comedy, mystery and prose like Andrighetti. Amaretto Amber deftly glides along without losing its sidesplitting momentum as it reaches its action-filled, ingeniously crafted and unforeseen climax. Amaretto Amber is deliciously addicting, wickedly exciting, skillfully well-written, and her best Franki Amato outing to date. Amaretto Amber authenticates Andrighetti is one of the best mystery writers of all-time. Copyright © 2016 by Diane Morasco Review first appeared in Long Island Book Reviews Examiner.

This is book three in the Frankie Amato series, and it finds Frankie's mom and Sicilian grandma (Nonna) descending upon her in the French Quarter following her 30th birthday. They've come to help her land a husband by stealing a lemon from the St. Joseph's feast. It's a laugh-out-loud whodunit set in New Orleans's strip and drag clubs. The wacky sayings of the Nonnae and their reactions to the stripper's attire will delight you. It's a walk on the wild side that will leave you enlightened about Sicilian/Italian rituals and ceremonies. This is my review of a galley; I adored it and it gave me many side-splitting laughs and quite a few guffaws.

This is a great book; this is the third book in the Franki Amato Mystery series byTraci Andrighetti. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read this one you will want to go back and read the other books in this series. Franki Amato is a private investigator, who has to investigate a surreal strip club homicide along with her sixtyish ex-stripper landlady. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Witches and strippers and Nonnis ....Oh My! Franki is back in the limelight again! Turning 30, could mean a new career change for her as she takes on a case involving a Strip Club homicide, and learns the business inside and out. Her life becomes more complicated by a visit from her mother and Nonni....enter the Sicilian curses......while she is trying to interpret the Vodoo signs linked to the homicides. Add to this her involvement in the career of her banker boyfriend....things seem to go from bad to worse. Once you pick this up, you won't be able to put it down until you have all the answers!

Amaretto Amber continues the adventures of police-officer-turned-private-investigator Franki Amato. Beginning on her 30th birthday, the story is a rollicking fun mix of Franki dealing with her personal life- which is full of lively characters- and her case involving a death in a strip club. Author Traci Andrighetti is known for her vivid descriptions of her characters and scenes, and Amaretto Amber doesn't disappoint! I laughed as I could clearly picture the "interesting" cast of characters- especially new client "Carnie Vaul," who I'd love to see on a stage someday- and felt like I was immersed in Franki's world right from the start. The background stories- you have to love the "Nonne" while still cringing for Franki as she deals with the interference in her life- are just as vivid &!lively as the actual murder investigation. You will feel Franki's dread at some of the antics she needs to go through to solve the case (anyone who has read the other books had to know Landlady Miss Glenda would drag Franki into her world at some point!), and her real desire to solve the case while still keeping her life from falling apart. I love a good mystery with a sense of humor, and this series delivers. You don't need to read all the Franki books to enjoy this one, but if you haven't read any of the others, reading Amaretto Amber will make you want to read them all. Trust me- treat yourself to the other books if you haven't done so already! While each one stands alone, each one is also a delight, & some back stories are really worth checking out. In fact, reading this new adventure has made me want to go back & re-read them all. If you love mysteries with humor & cozies, you will adore Amaretto Amber! I highly recommend it. You may feel the need to get a ticket to New Orleans once you start reading, as the story sucks you in that much. The only problem is you won't want to put the book down once you start, so make sure you are ready to settle in for great read once you start!
