I really enjoyed reading this book and it held my interest the whole way through. I'm an avid reader and still a kid at heart so I read a lot of YA books. I LOVED this one and adored Ashley. I can't wait to read the sequel!

To go from driving your car to ending being in a strange place and told you are dead is overwhelming enough but when you get in the wrong queue and end up being your favourite singer Guardian Angel is something else entirely. Ashley wasn’t ready to be a guardian angel, she hadn’t had any training at all. She didn’t have a clue on what she was doing. Luckily she met other guardian angels with their assignments so asked them what she is meant to do. I loved the book. I think it is every young girls dream to be with their celebrity crush although not quite in the way that Ashley did. I really liked Ashley she was young she was funny and quite grown up really for her age. Her assignment Cannon seemed to be quite nasty to most people he spoke to but inside he was so unhappy. Nothing what Ashley had thought he would be and in truth I am sure none of us think that our celeb crush could be like that. Maybe because when they are on the TV or at a concert they jump into a roll that they play. There was some sadness in the book you could feel the pain of both characters. There were also funny occasions which made me giggle and there were some surprises along the way too. Very well written and an enjoyable read.

Amateur Angel is exactly what I expected which can be both a good and a bad thing depending on who your talking to. Predictability can either ways. For me it both ways. It was good in the sense that I would never get annoyed by how little I knew and bad in the sense that I knew wayyy to much as far as how the story would pan out. Ahley is a pretty cool character who accidentally becomes a guardian angel right ning with her her sense of what is right and wrong. She is the typical teenager who has the typical crush on the super famous rock star. She could be one of those high school friends I talk to in homeroom in high school but never really kept in contact with. Cannon is also pretty typical except for his volunteering. boy rock star who happens to be unhappy even thoug hhe has everything he could ever want. I did feel bad for him because he IS so unhappy with everything he has. I would have loved a a little more action (the kind where his life might be in danger and she has to qickly learn how to save it) and a little less her knocking things over but it was funny nonetheless. Most hilarious part that had my jaw hurting? When Cannon takes a girl back to his house and the girl thinks something bit her! Now I can't say more then that or I'll spoil it but trust me it is funny! Would I recommend this book to you? Sure. I mean this is only my humble opinion on this book, who knows it might turn out to be your favorite! *Rated M for 18+*

Most of the YA novels featuring angels these days deal with fallen angels or the like. 'Amateur Angel' takes the topic of angels and breathes new life into it by making a light and fun story. The story was innovative and fresh, which made it a quick read. The characters were all interesting with unique quirks - especially the main character Ashley. These little oddities along with her somewhat sarcastic dialogue makes her really likeable to the reader. I thought that the story was well written and had a great flow, which made it a really enjoyable book. Fans of angel fiction who are looking for a lighter read should definitely pick this one up. Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Ashley is suddenly killed in a car accident on her 18th birthday and mistakenly becomes a Guardian Angel with no training! Not only does Ashley have to learn how to be Guardian Angel, her first assignment is not going to be easy as she is assigned to Cannon Michaels, hot lead singer of her favorite band. How will Ashley keep this reckless rock star safe? To complicate matters, she is falling in love with Cannon. The author creates a wonderfully detailed view of the world of Guardian Angels. I loved learning how to be a Guardian Angel along with Ashley. Looking forward to a sequel!
