I am surprised by how easy this is to read. It reads like a novel rather than an informative history text. I put off reading it for months because I thought it was going to be like those horrible history books from my childhood -- dull and boring with lots of statistics. It's not like that at all. I began reading it this weekend and I can't put it down. I even brought it to work to read during my lunch hour!! Don't put it off another day as you will absolutely enjoy the read and the by-product is that you will learn about history -- history made enjoyable by the writing style of Bill Bennett. You will love this -- I promise.

This was every bit as good and informative as Volume I.
If you want some truth that will make you proud to be an American, this is it.
Many forgotten (or ignored) truths are brought to light.

Mr. Bennett writes such wonderful books. This one was filled with such interesting history. It was written with seriousness and humor. If you love history and have not read this book, you are missing something. His books stay in my library for reference and quotes.
