This book was very good! Zitkala-Sa immersed herself in the book by telling us what it was like to grow up as a Native American child. This book always kept me guessing when it came to what is next. I was unpredictable in many parts. There is a section in the book where it talks about what it was like to be in one of the school systems as a Native American child. This brought me great emotion. There were humorous parts, but also deep, dark parts as well. It was a completely different culture than mine. It was really neat to see her side of the story.
