Amethyst Flame is the story of Vaughn, a vampire and a witch named Emma. Neither Vaughn nor Emma likes what they are, and neither thinks a relationship is in the cards for them. All that changes after they are set up and realize they are being targeted by a powerful and wealthy enemy. Despite their differences they had become good friends along the way and talked often. Their conversations were on the phone far away from one another. Once they are banding together trying to survive, the rules change. There is a connection between them that neither Emma nor Vaughn can fight. The more time they spend together the stronger it becomes. The characters are great, the pace is fast, and I love how the characters evolve as the story plays out. In five bridges there's so much violence and death it takes the hope from the people who have to live there. But Vaughn and Emma are fighting for the greater good and they both deserve happiness. I found myself really rooting for the couple in their fight against the evil wizard, Loghry. I did get a little frustrated when it seemed the characters were giving up rather than being confident they could succeed. Besides that though, I really enjoyed the story and enjoyed the twists and surprises at the end. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series and I can't wait to see these amazing characters start to change five bridges for the better. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review. The Flame Series is a really interesting and well crafted world. Nowhere is safe in Five Bridges. Prejudices abound, borders crossed/broken and life is cheap. A pair of forbidden lovers entangled in a paranormal murder mystery. This story has a bit of everything and that made it a very enjoyable read. Caris Roane’s writing shines in Amethyst Flame.

~~Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review~~ Blurb: Do you love hunky vampire warrior types? Then the Flame Series is just right for you! Vaughn, a powerful vampire serving as a Border Patrol officer for his corrupt world, falls for a dangerous witch who alone is the key to saving his long lost sister… New York Times bestselling author, Caris Roane, presents AMETHYST FLAME, the second book in the Flame Series. In this story, vampire Officer Vaughn of the Crescent Border Patrol gets called to a triple homicide in a deadly place called the Graveyard. When he finds that Emma Delacey has been summoned to the same crime scene, warning bells sound. He’s tried to suppress his desire for the beautiful witch knowing nothing good can come of a relationship in the alter world of Five Bridges. But her auburn hair and glittering green eyes call to him as no woman has since he became an alter vampire. As an evil wizard hounds them both, Vaughn must come to terms with his deepest fears especially when Emma proves to be the key to saving his sister from a madman’s torture. AMETHYST FLAME is a standalone story with no cliffhangers. It’s a passionate, hot, paranormal romance, featuring a vampire and a witch set in the urban world of Five Bridges. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is Vaughn and Emma’s story. Good people living in a very corrupt world trying to help others. They have stayed in touch and stayed friends after a passionate night together a while back. As with Connor and Iris, they are set up for elimination and the fight for survival and to take out the warlock who wants them dead begins. Hot read with plenty of action as they confront the bad guys and their feelings for each other and discover their power together to fight. I am really liking this series as I do all of hers I’ve read.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in this series. All species have their own areas to live in and their own police force.Vaughn is a vampire for the Border Patrol and Emma Delancey is a beautiful witch. They both are called out to the same crime scene. They are attracted to each other but a witch can kill a vampire with a single touch. They are both targeted by someone evil and will have to work together to defeat the evil. I enjoyed this book immensely and look foward to reading the next in the series.

Book two in the new Flame series by Caris Roane didn't stand up to what I expected after book 1. It had moments where it was so melodramatic. The "Oh, we are doomed to fail"before they even started mentality that the characters kept coming back to got a bit annoying. It was almost like they expected to fail, so why bother hoping for a different outcome. Then there were times when they were intimate that they wouldn't stop talking "Oh, how I love this about you" and "Oh, how I love that about you. It got a bit tiring. The final battle and resolution was good. But the plot was a bit flat. They kept going on about how they didn't have a future, so they didn't want to contemplate their feelings and thinking about how if only they could lock themselves away and hide they would be able to tell the other person how they truly felt. I enjoyed the final battle in the maze and how they worked as a team and fought to survive. They spent most of the story saying how they were doomed to fail, but as soon as they committed to the final battle, they fought hard to survive and love each other. I enjoyed the world of Five Bridges, so I do think the series has potential, I just for some reason didn't connect with these two characters like I did the characters in book 1. These two characters fell flat for me. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy from the author for an honest review. Another great story by a great author! I can't seem to get enough of the stories by Caris Roane. I love the characters and the worlds that she creates. I can picture Five Bridges like it really exists and I like how the different paranormal beings were created. It's almost apocalyptic instead of just paranormal and it's so easy to get sucked into the drama as it unfolds. I look forward to the next pair of characters from opposite sides of Five Bridges and how they get pulled together.

Free copy in exchange for honest review. The second in the Five Bridges series, we're learning more about the world - essentially, it is the paranormal post-apocalyptic dystopia you really hope doesn't come to pass. While I'm not a fan of that style of world building, I find the Flame series not quite a dystopian odyssey in that it's truly about people coming together and bettering their world. The pairing in Amethyst have plenty of reasons to avoid entanglement but some things are just meant to be - it's best to read it to see just how all the threads of a path can truly come full circle.

►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►► NOTE: I was given a free copy of the book from the author in exchange for a honest review. ►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►► Amethyst Flame is book #2 of Caris Roane's Flame Series. Do you like stories with vampires, or witches in it? Do you like action along with your romance? Do you like hot sex scenes, or hot sexy vamps? I asked all these questions of the person reading the review for the first book of the series, Blood Flame. So did you like that story, you'll like this one just as much. I enjoyed Amethyst Flame just as much as book 1, Blood Rose. If you missed that one, no problem. The characters in the first book are mentioned, but this really is a stand-alone book. So give this one a try and if you like it go back and read Blood Flame. So again we have vamps, weres and witches and a necromancer (or dead talkers as they're called in the book). We have action and more action. We have the corrupt others, the good others. And of course there's the hot hot sex scenes, but tastefully done. And if the vamps keep going to .. well that's a spoiler but if you'll get it if you read the book .. there's not going to be any good ones left in their sector. Just a random thought there. As I said in my Blood Flame review, you know you're going to get the HEA but it's getting there that's interesting.

This is part two in the series, but could easily be read as a standalone. The second half is action packed and unpredictable, but I have to say I was a little disappointed in the first half. It's written well enough, but I felt the story of the couple was too similar to that of the couple in book one. I had a constant sense of deja vu, and it was off putting. Even some of the love scenes were too much alike. I stuck with it though, and it did eventually find it's own identity. Some aspects of the 'world' the series is set in still doesn't make complete sense to me, but I'm sure things will tie together better with each future book. Hopefully there will be more details about the flame drugs and alter serums, where they come from, why they're used etc. Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Vaughn and Emma live in a corrupt world. They are determined to stop the evil. Vaughn is a powerful vampire who is a Border Patrol officer. Emma is a strong alter witch. They are enemies. Can they work together to defeat their common foe? The wizard Loghry wants them dead. They are a disruption that he needs to eliminate. This story is an exhilarating adventure filled with danger and intrigue. The heated sexual tension between Vaughn and Emma is amazing. These two forge a bond that allows them to shared each others powers. Their connection was compelling. I was pulled into the story immediately. Emma is a strong willed heroine who will stop at nothing to bring down Loghry. She is determined to save his innocent victims. Vaughn finds himself attracted to Emma. He has endured so much but he knows that he can trust Emma with his very life. When they are together they are unstoppable. The Flame Series is skillfully crafted. The stories blend perfectly together. I'm looking forward to more books in this series. I love paranormal stories. Caris Roane created an alter world that kept me on the edge of my seat.

A Very Good Book Alter world Five Bridges Vaughn is a vampire Officer with the Crescent Border Patrol when he is called to the deadly place called the Graveyard because of a triple homicide. Warning bells go off for him when he finds out that Emma Delacey is also summoned to the same crime scene. In the alter world of Five Bridges he knows a relationship with the beautiful witch will not be good so he tried to suppress his desire for her. The problem is that no woman since he has become an alter vampire has called to him the way Emma does with her auburn hair and green eyes. Vaughn must face his deepest fears as an evil wizard hounds them both, especially as it seems Emma is the key to saving Vaughn’s sister from a madman’s torture. This is proving to be a very good series that is very different than most vampire stories. The world that has come alive in the first two books in the series is proving to be amazing. The book is filled with action that doesn’t stop until the very end. It will be interesting to see where this series goes as it has some great secondary characters that if they have their own books will be fascinating. Readers will find the book hard to put down once they start as they will want to find out what is going to happen next and just how things will work out for Vaughn and Emma.

Great paranormal read! This is the second book in the Flame Series but can be read as a stand-alone. Emma and Vaughn are thrown together when someone sets them up for a crime they didn’t commit. The story is fast paced with lots of drama, suspense and the attraction between the characters is steamy.

“Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review” Amethyst Flame, book 2 of the Flame Series, is a MUST read! I fell in love with Vaughn and Emma from the very start. They are not only lovers, but the best of friends. Their story is filled with adventure and romance – it’s a story that once I started reading, I couldn’t stop until I reached the end. I can’t wait for the next story in this series. Caris Roane – you ROCK.

Amethyst Flame is the second story in the Flame series set in the supernatural world of Five Bridges. As with Blood Flame, this story revolves around a vampire, Vaughn, and a witch, Emma, natural enemies in this fascinating world where corruption abounds. Vaughn and Emma had "hooked up" previously for a night after rescuing three teenage girls, destined for the underground sex and drug trade. Although both knew nothing further could come of their relationship, they continued to talk on the phone keeping in contact. When they're set up to die, Vaughn and Emma's attraction grows as they partner to stop the ruthless spellcaster behind the kidnapping of teenage girls, and their feelings start to take over. An extremely well-written and fluid story, Amethyst Flame was a delight to read. With strong characters and the introduction of characters who will, undoubtedly, have their own stories in the future, the plot flows along nicely as our couple fight evil, with a little help from their friends. To me, it seemed more rushed than Blood Flame, with some repetition I could have done without. Iris and Connor's story was, no doubt, hard to top. However, that being said, it is still a very enjoyable read, with a lot of surprises along the way. Filled with action, hot intense encounters, the intertwining of powers, "helpful" ghosts and some new interesting characters, Amethyst Flame has left me hoping the third in the series comes quickly. I received this book from the author in exchange for a honest review. Wow What a great book. I love Emma and Vaughn, they fact that they both have lost loved ones in the past and then ended up together is wonderful. I like the fact that there is some romance, some action and some lovemaking. I like they fact that in the end the families are together and the bad guy got what he deserved. This is the second book and it is as good as the first one and I hope to continue to read more of this series. If you like a great paranormal book you should read this one and the first one in the series.

Loved it! This is the second book in the series , but can be read as a standalone story. This book focuses on Vampire Vaughn and Witch Emma. Both try to do what they can to help those that are affected by the corruption and evil within Five Bridges... but have now become targets themselves. While working together, the attraction between them grows and interesting things occur. I love this series! Such wonderful characters! I really enjoyed the storyline and meeting each of the characters. You are introduced to more of the beings that live in this world... I hope to see and learn more about each of them and want to see where things go within the next few stories. An action filled romance that had my attention all the way to the end! *copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

I love the worlds and characters Caris creates! It was no surprise that this book drew me in from the beginning. This book is about a vampire named Vaughn and a witch named Emma. At the very beginning of the book they come to find that someone is out to kill them, so they must come together even though they are natural enemies. As they spend more time together they start to have feelings for one another and learn that they make each other stronger, but they don't know what that means for them. Will they figure it out before a powerful warlock takes them out? There is only one way to find out and you will not be disappointed!  *I was giving a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Vaughn, a vampire Border Patrol Officer, and Emma, a witch Tribunal Safety Officer, are both sent by their bosses to The Graveyard, and discover the dead victims are the triplets they previously rescued two months prior. Vaughn and Emma realize they have been set up, barely escaping with their lives as corrupt border patrol officers arrive at the scene and start shooting at them. They believe Loughry, a powerful wizard and Amethyst Flame addict, is behind the kidnappings, murders, and the assassination attempt. Working together is hard as they need to trust each other. I love the story and the main characters. This series gets better and better with each book. The story flows smoothly and the development of the characters is so strong, you think they are real. If you haven't started the series, you should. I received a copy of this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Gifted for an honest review. Flame series by Caris Roane set in the alter world of Five Bridges. Nathan Vaughn a vampire officer with the Crescent Border Patrol and witch Emma Delacey team up to rescue teen girls that are being kidnapped by an evil Wizard Loghry. Both Vaughn and Emma have pasts that keep them from building relationships. Their chemistry is overpowering together and is needed to keep themselves alive and to save the innocents.
