About the Author

Bhakti Mathur lives in Hong Kong with her husband, their two sons, and two dogs. After a long stint as a banker, she now juggles her time between writing, teaching yoga, executive coaching and bibliotherapy.

Bhakti is a children’s book author with 21 published titles to date. She started the ‘Amma Tell Me’ Series in 2011 as a means to share with her children, the stories from Hindu mythology that had mesmerised her as a child. Written in rhyme and vividly illustrated, the series endeavours to keep the tradition of oral storytelling alive and create a special moment between a parent and child. Bhakti is also the author of the ‘Amma Take Me’ Series (published by Penguin Random House, India).

Bhakti is also a freelance journalist and chronicles inspirational people and their journeys through life, health and fitness for the South China Morning Post. When not writing or running after her teenagers, Bhakti is happiest curled up with a book in one hand and a hot cup of chai in the other.
