Overview
The New Testament figure of John the Baptist, questing for God in the desert wilderness while eating only locusts and wild honey, easily fires our imagination and commands our respect. When John testifies about the Son of God while baptizing Jesus in the Jordan River, we are awe-inspired by his vision. However, one Bible verse-"Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he" (Mt 11:11)-has been oft-discussed among scholars and readers of the Bible.
In this book, the author delves deep into this enigmatic verse by exploring John's background-the prophecies and phenomena surrounding his birth, his retreat into the wilderness as a young man, and his dramatic rise in popularity among the Israelite people. John's path culminates in his testimony at the Jordan River about Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
After this fateful meeting, the author traces the divergent paths of John the Baptist and Jesus and the effect their separation has upon the Israelites. Only several months later, John's search for answers about his role and his relationship to Jesus ends with John's death in King Herod's prison.

About the Author
The author, Mr. Jean-Jacques Trifault, was born in Normandy, France, in the spring of
1956, just as the sun was warming up the earth and the leaves began to sprout.
As a young man he became interested in developing a relationship with Jesus Christ. In that pursuit, he visited many churches in France, speaking with religious people whenever he could.
Eventually, he studied agriculture and became a shepherd. Throughout the long days of shepherding and the silence of the mountain nights, he continued to develop his relationship with His Father, seeking for the wisdom to keep the integrity of his soul. He especially began to discover the touch of God through observing the beauty of the nature around him.
The author later worked in a factory, where he was able to deepen his inner faith and determination to love God and others in the midst of the challenges of heavy labor.
His accumulated experiences brought him the confidence to help people regain what they so often have lost in the midst of the sandstorms of life.
He began to speak publicly and continues to speak extensively to audiences about personal growth and developing a loving relationship with God. Mr. Trifault has resided in the United States since 1980.
