Meet the Author

Welcome... I came to this planet fifty some odd years ago. After exiting my mother's portal, the doctor slapped me around until I started breathing the oxygen. I'll admit, at the time, I had no idea what I was doing or where I was. Being an infant Human, I was completely reliant on the responsible actions of others. It was a time that I have largely forgotten. I reside in Central Florida with the wife and children. After thirty years in engineering, my time is now spent chronicling the adventures of fictitious heroes. They are off-world, fighting the good fight. For me? I'm stuck here on this planet in this feeble existence that we Humans are all forced to endure. So, I ask you this... do you wish to escape the bonds of this surly planet we call Earth? Are you looking for a bit more adventure than what the grocery store has to offer? Do you worry about being enslaved by alien androids or six-eyed alien goats with lasers? Pew, pew, pew! Yeah, that's what I thought. Asking yourself those questions and getting back an answer is the first hurdle to cross in the race to get off this world. Sounds like you are ready to venture out, to put this place behind you. So crack open one of my books. Take to the heavens and let me shout this out to those who remain: "Watch out universe! Another Human is on the loose!" Take care and I hope you have a great day! Stephen I sometimes discount an ebook the first few days after a release. Join the email list to find out when! I just started to read this book and already found massive factual error preventing me from going any further. This book is supposedly written by experienced engineer, but crucial systems stated on page to cause propulsion shutdown are not redundant. In next sentence author mentions wulnerability to pirate attack and yet there is no workaround to simple leak. Really. Even WWI submarines had valves to shut down leaking systems. They also had critical systems duplicated - including twin set of engines.

The characters are one dimensional, the protagonists get out of their troubles through no actions of their own but luck, and I just don't understand the actions of some characters for their rank. I gave up reading about 1/3 of the way through. I'm guessing this is the author's first attempt at writing a book, in which case he should have kept this one to himself or completely rewritten it before trying to self publish. There's a few kernels of a good story here, but there's too much flotsam floating around them to make this a worthwhile read.

Whenever something was needed, poof they developed some amazing technology to deal with the problem. The characters would hate each other one minute and then poof after just one battle they would be in love. I seem to cheer more for the noble cause then any one character, which all appeared to be too shallow. Good points is plenty of action with some good detail on the battles.
