An Aria for Nick: Part 2 of the Song of Suspense Series by Hallee Bridgeman

The only man who can save her life has been dead for a decade.

Raised in a loving home, Aria Suarez dreamed of becoming a professional pianist happily married to her high school crush. After the only boy who ever caught her eye dies a hero's death and her wrist is shattered along with her future plans, she turns her brilliant musical mind to nuclear engineering and solving mysteries of science.

Abandoned to an abusive father at five, Nick Williams grew up dreaming of escape; of enlisting in the Army and leaving his wretched life behind; of proving himself worthy of the girl he loves. But the crucible of combat offers only the escape of death.

A decade later, Aria uncovers a nuclear plot that threatens the heart of our very nation. Sinister forces surround and threaten her when, out of nowhere, the man who reportedly died so many years before returns as if from the grave -- intent on protecting her.

Has God finally joined them together?

Or is Aria doomed to mourn Nick twice?

“The only man that can save her has been dead for a decade.” With a tag line like that, how can you not be drawn to this book? Hallee Bridgeman never fails to delight her readers. An Aria for Nick, the second book in her Song of Suspense series, showcases the vibrancy of Hallee’s descriptive writing. From the very beginning, I was rooting for Aria and Nick to overcome their differences and find a way to make things work. Just when all should be well, tragedy strikes. Aria is forced by circumstances to set aside her hopes and dreams in exchange for an entirely new life. Having stumbled upon a plot of nuclear proportions, Aria seeks help to stop the plotting before it’s too late. She never expects help to come in the form of a man she has long since thought dead. Is it too late for second chances? True to form, Hallee skillfully weaves fiction and reality together to create characters the reader could expect to run in to at the local coffee shop. Mixing romance, Christian morals, and suspense in a story of redemption, you won’t want to stop reading.

An Aria for Nick ( Christian Suspense) by Hallee Bridgeman Wow Hallee has really did it with An Aria for Nick. She has written a story full of action, suspense, and clean romance. I also like the way Halley brings out Christian Morals into her story. Her characters are so real and you feel like you are right there with them. I caught tears rolling down my cheeks a few times. Aria Suarez is eighteen at the start and in high school. She has dreams of becoming a professional Pianist. Well one day her dreams got shattered and she had to turn to something else. She has always had a crush for this certain boy in school, but he would not hardly have anything to do with her. In Aria's new job she has uncovered leads to possible nuclear plots that threatens the nation. There is only one person who can help her and he has been dead for a decade.  Nick Williams was in high school with Aria and he thought she was to good for him. Nick was left by his mother to be with his abusive father. He would drink and take it out on Nick. Nick could hardly wait till he was eighteen to go into the Army, then he would be away from his father. The day Nick leaves for the Army Aria is heart broken. Things starts to heat up after Nick leaves. If you love action and lots of suspense and clean romance you will love this story. Who will help Aria out with what she had discovered? Her life is really on the line. I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review and I have given it.

This is an intriguing romantic suspense novel. Aria has a brilliant mind, but she is also very aware of what is going on around her. That makes for a wonderful combination. It also ends up putting her in incredible danger. I love the development and presentation of this character. We learn about her family relationships by meeting her during her senior year in high school.  As we follow Aria we get a glimpse at Nick. Then Hallee takes the time to introduce us to Nick’s family situation and shows us what makes him tick. She does a great job at this and making them very different from each other. Fast forward 10 years and drop Aria into a dangerous situation. Nick shows up with training and experience that she had no idea about and they are sent down a twisting and turning path of questioning, “Who are the bad guys, and what exactly are they up to?” Their journey is filled with suspense and danger. It was a captivating novel and I was drawn into it quickly and found that I couldn’t quit until the answers had all been found and the danger was past. I received a free copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

A Nail biter for sure! This story starts so sweetly, with lovely music, high school drama and sweethearts – but no…..no sweethearts, just heartache. Aria is looking forward to a career as a concert pianist. Her family and friends are there to support her. Just one friend seems to matter more than the others, and he doesn’t seem to care. Fast forward to a world of international intrigue, a career as a nuclear engineer and you have a book that is incredibly well written and hard to put down! Will there be forgiveness and a future for the country they both love as well as each other?  I received this ebook from The Book Club Network in return for my honest review.

After reading the first few chapters, I was unprepared for what came next. The unexpected happened and the plot changed. Wow, what a ride the author took us as readers. All the suspense, drama, and intrigue made for quite a story. The action scenes were so real and the characters so life like, but there was also room for some sweet romance. The suspense made for great reading - so much so - it was hard to put the book down until the end when it was all wrapped up in such a perfect way. The two main characters, Aria and Nick, had come from such different backgrounds, yet beginning in high school and throughout the entire book, they only had eyes for each other. Ms. Bridgeman wove their “connection” into every phase of the story. If you like suspenseful action, this is the book for you. I received this book for free from Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.

An Aria for Nick left me with tears of joy! It is an absolutely thrilling story that will draw the reader into a fast-paced and exciting world of espionage, romance, broken hearts, nightmares and redemption. I loved the second book in the Song of Suspense series! Aria Suarez is the youngest and only daughter of an Army Sergeant. She is beautiful, smart and a child protégé pianist. Aria has it all with a wonderful and supporting family and the best friend a girl could ask for. The only thing she’s missing is the boy she is hopelessly in love with, Nick Williams. But Nick won’t give her the time of day and seems oblivious to her advances. What will it take to win his heart? Nick Williams knows pain and he knows heartache. He has survived an abusive father and a miserable home life and all he wants to do is survive high school and get his diploma. His dreams are centered around entering the military upon graduation. As much as Aria intrigues him, she’s too good for him and he knows it. When Aria’s dreams are destroyed by a horrible act of violence and the heartbreak of a lifetime, she refocuses to a career in nuclear science. Without trying, she is swept into a sinister plot that threatens not only her safety but the wellbeing of the entire United States. Aria must decide if she has the courage to fight for her own life as well as for the country she loves. Nick has spent his life being one of the best in the military. When he is recruited to solve a minor problem he has no idea that it will take him full circle in a life he thought he’d left behind. An Aria for Nick is a top ten book from start to finish. I could not put it down and was not disappointed at all. Definitely a must read! Ms. Bridgeman is a fantastic author who always provides a quality story. Her books never fail to give the reader a full ride in excitement and adventure and An Aria for Nick is no exception! I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

To start with – I loved the title of this book as it cleverly included the names of both key characters! And then, I really loved the book! Romance, mystery, suspense, acronyms – it was all fantastic and I can’t wait to read more books by Halle Bridgeman! From the moment I began to read I was intrigued and pulled into the book. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the attention to detail in the descriptions of the characters – Nick’s contact lenses to disguise his eyes, Aria’s clothing (especially the yellow pants). But the book had more than just mystery and suspense; it also had the thread of forgiveness. Would Nick be able to forgive his father for the abuse he suffered as a child? This book was just excellent and I highly recommend it as one of the best books I read all summer!! I received this book from TBCN in return for my honest opinion.

Aria for Nick by Hallee Bridgeman Aria has been in love with Nick forever. Her dreams of marriage, a home and professional music career die with Nick. As she goes on with life, she excels at new career but her life is now on the verge of disaster. But when she finds her life in danger Nick returns from the dead and comes to her rescue. Nick has always thought he was not good enough for Aria but her confidence and love for him is strong enough for both of them. I have read all of Hallee Bridgeman’s novels and find this one to be the best yet. It was fast paced, full of action and suspense. I highly recommend this book and give it five stars. Aria for Nick is a great book for fans of Christian fiction, romance and suspense. I am waiting (impatiently) for the next book to come out. I find her works to be full of faith and believable with realist characters. This book had a strong message of forgiveness and long lasting love. I want to give a high-five to the author Hallee Bridgeman and publisher for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. The Book Club Network Inc. provided me with this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for their, the authors and publishers generosity.

A new favorite! 4.5 stars An Aria for Nick is the second book in Hallee Bridgeman’s Song of Suspense series. I’m a big fan of Ms. Bridgeman’s books and loved this one as well! While this is book two, technically, you don’t have to read them in order. The plots don’t overlap or anything. Several of the characters come back in this one (or are at least mentioned) and you might miss an inside joke or two, but that’s about it. I do highly recommend reading all of Hallee’s books, if you get the chance, but this one easily stands on its own. Hallee has this wonderful talent for creating unlikely characters and making them incredibly real. For instance, Aria Suarez is a concert pianist-turned nuclear engineer. I would never have even come up with that combination, but I loved Aria and everything that made her who she is. She is obviously extremely smart, but is still very down-to-Earth. She is kind and caring, but also determined and stubborn. She has built a new life for herself after losing Nick and has moved on, somewhat, though she has never forgotten him. I loved her reaction when she first meets him again - it was very realistic, though I personally, I probably would have slapped him for what he did to Aria. Nicholas “Nick” Williams “died” 12 years before, leaving everything to the young woman he loved. Honestly, I hated him a little for that, at first. After getting to know him and learning why he made that decision, I forgave him. It’s also really hard to hate someone as sweet and kind as Nick, even though he often hides those qualities. He is one of those macho, somewhat silent types. Though I don’t blame him for not wanting to talk about his past. The glimpses we get of it explain a lot and made me mourn for him a little bit; all he had lost and the regret he lived with. I actually really enjoyed Aria and Nick’s relationship. It surprised me, but in a good way. I was a little concerned that it was going to be the same thing over and over, with Aria constantly nagging him about lying to her. I should have known better, this is Hallee Bridgeman we‘re talking about, after all. I loved watching their relationship grow through out the book, from the teenage feelings in high school, to the people they are now. Seeing them reconnect and get to know each other anew was great. I also enjoyed their banter and how they challenge one another. Aria pushed Nick, forcing him out of his comfort zone. He returned the favor by challenging her to face her fears head on and do the hard things required of her. I loved getting to know both of them through the other’s eyes. The suspense and mystery were great as well! A couple things were a little obvious, but there were also some surprises along the way that kept me guessing. This book wasn’t extremely suspenseful, but it had its moments. A lot of it was Aria and Nick investigating and putting the pieces together, but I that actually made me respect Hallee more, as an author. She has a great talent for making the story fascinating and for drawing readers in, without having to have nonstop action to keep you hooked. The spiritual content wasn’t in the forefront as much as in some of her previous books, but I can understand why. Aria and Nick are both already Christians, so that saved a lot of discussion and it probably would have seemed unrealistic if they had had a lot of talks about it, while on the run. What was there was skillfully woven in so that there was just enough, but not overpowering anything else. The same is true of the descriptions and details. They enhanced an already wonderful story, but in no way overwhelmed it. I only have two complaints and they are mostly little nitpicky things. The beginning seemed a little slow to me, though looking back, I can understand why Hallee spent that time on it. It helped later on, to have the background. Also, there were a couple times where the point of view seemed to shift for just a sentence or two to a secondary character that Nick was talking with. It confused me for a moment, but I was able to move past it quickly, so it didn’t bother me much. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy excellent writing with fascinating characters, and mystery/suspense. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through The Book Club Network for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this suspenseful thriller. The sense of menace and the feeling of not knowing who to trust came through powerfully in this story of an innocent nuclear scientist and her Black Ops protector. We follow their desperate, cross-country journey as they try to stay alive long enough to prevent domestic terrorism featuring a portable nuclear device. Aria and Nick are both well-developed characters that the reader is sure to like spending time with and will root for them to succeed in their mission. The bad guys are creepy, and a sense of paranoia about those powerful people who want more power is scary-realistic. The chemistry between Aria and Nick is evident and sweet as they struggle to keep their minds off their possible future together long enough to have one. Their Christian faith is woven naturally into their actions and decisions, leading to a great message of reliance on God and the power of forgiveness. The heartily recommend this book to Christian suspense lovers. It is the second in the Song of Suspense series; but since the characters are different from the first book, MELODY FOR JAMES, this one is totally stand-alone. I received this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for this my honest review.

As a teenager, Aria tries desperately to attract the attention of Nick. No matter what she does, the brilliant student and talented musician cannot seem to break through to him. Little does she know that Nick, the victim of domestic abuse, keeps his distance because he doesn’t think he is good enough for her. Aria does not know that Nick secretly attends all her concerts. As they are graduating, Aria makes enough progress with Nick that he agrees to keep in touch while he is in the Army. Little does she know that that is enough for Nick to make her his sole beneficiary in the event of his death. Eventually, he is reported dead. At his funeral, Nick’s abusive father attacks Aria, injuring her wrist so she can never pursue her dream of being a concert pianist. Fast forward. Aria is now a PhD working in nuclear physics. She becomes aware that someone is gaining unauthorized access to dangerous government information, information that could be used to start a nuclear disaster. When she contacts the government, the “bad guys” coming looking for her. With no one to protect her, a voice from her past comes to her rescue. This story is full of many twists and turns, leaving the reader unable to put it down. Personally, I thought it was a bit of a stretch that a young woman of 28 would have so quickly finished a PhD and done such important work in the field of nuclear physics to have the notoriety that she had and in her spare time write the musical score for blockbuster movies. Other than that, the story was very interesting and it kept the reader on the “edge of her seat”. I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in return for my honest review
