An Old Fashioned Man, by Celeste Jones I really enjoyed reading this story, from start to finish. There has been an earthshattering event, perhaps a cataclysmic earthquake or the likes, and the world appears to have few survivors. One set of survivors is a group of university co-eds and their house-mother. Another group is a family of Amish men, who have lost their last female member. Perhaps it is Divine intervention, but they ultimately find a way of getting together. That “coming together” affords a few interesting and exciting opportunities for some domestic discipline and pre-marital sexual experiences. I initially thought the plot was a little too predictable, but the wedding day of one of the girls provided some unexpected and delicious variations. It was a great story with many erotic and explicit scenes, and even left the door open for a sequel. This is a FIVE STAR book you do not want to miss. I received this book as an advance review copy from the publisher.

Imagine you're attending college, just an ordinary day, nothing unusual. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the earth rocks, seemingly explodes around you, leaving rubble, ruin & death everywhere. That's what happens to Lara, a student at Collier College in Pennsylvania. She finds that only five of her classmates & one of the house mothers, Mrs. Potter, have survived the cataclysmic earthquake that may have destroyed life as they know it. There are no signs of life to be found. With no electricity, cell phones, computers, tablets, TVs or no radios left, they're panicked. Clean water? Food? Clothing? Where are they going to find these? They've never had to live without modern conveniences. What are they going to do? To survive, they'll have to develop skills they've never used before. The 7 women set out on an adventure that will change their lives forever. That same earthquake hits the Amish community where Solomon Miller & his 6 sons live. Fortunately for the Millers, they were underground during the earthquake. They survived. The rest of their community isn't so lucky. As time moves on, they try to move forward with life in this new world, believing themselves to be alone. One morning while doing his chores, Caleb Miller discovers a young woman sleeping in a stall in the barn. A woman? Where did she come from? Who is she? Is she alone? Caleb has more questions than answers. That woman is Lara & when she is less than forthcoming with the answers the Millers need, the adventures, danger & troubles begin. What will happen to the other 6 women who were with Lara? They're barely surviving in the forest. Who else has survived? What other dangers surround them? Can both groups come together, find some way to survive in this totally foreign world? Or will the unknown, uncertainty & overwhelming odds end up crushing all hope, destroying everything they hold dear? One thing is very clear. If they have any chance at all, they have to overcome vast differences, bitterness, anger, jealousy & fear & learn to lean on each other to survive. Celeste Jones is a completely new author for me. I wasn't sure what to expect from this novel but I was pleasantly surprised. The plot is very unique. It's a sweet, erotic romance, set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic event & the experiences of the survivors. Ms. Jones impressed me with her totally realistic characters & the spot-on description of Christian college & Amish life in exacting detail. I loved the relationships between all the characters. This story is not at all what you might expect when you connect the words "Christian college" & "Amish men." There's cataclysm, mystery, danger, & unexpected erotic romance around each corner. This isn't a predictable book. Just when I thought I knew what was coming next, I was totally thrown off course. Celeste Jones is well-known for her Regency era erotic romances. This appears to be a new direction for her. This is a thoroughly charming, delightful & erotic romance & I'm eager to read more of Ms. Jones' books. I highly recommend An Old-Fashioned Man. Thank you, Ms. Jones, for providing such a unique & enjoyable reading experience! Thanks for reading my review & happy reading!
