Interesting, but not spell-binding.  The ancient alchemical text of Abraham the Jew is rumored to be lost in the vast, uninhabited backcountry of Idaho - and everyone is trying to find it and control its secrets.  The widow of a Near-and Mid-East CIA scholar is being chased by assassins.  A handsomely famous modern-day Indiana Jones searches for a lost Han dynasty tomb in Mongolia, and his brother takes an ill-prepared band of college students into the wilds of Idaho following clues from a secret mission originally taken by emissaries of Thomas Jefferson to shadow Lewis & Clark.  -- Seriously, how can all this come together into a coherent storyline?  Well, it is largely a success.  The premise and early part of the book had me eagerly turning pages, then it veered into shades of H.G.Wells and lost me.  Someone should have stepped up and removed huge chunks of the other-worldly section of this book.  It dragged on for too long and sadly overshadowed the original premise without adding much to the narrative.  That said, give this book a try and be prepared to suspend a healthy chunk of disbelief.

What can I say. I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK. It's one of those books that you can't put down. I was hooked from the first chapter. Can't wait to read more books from this author. This is a must read.

I enjoyed this book. The story kept me turning the pages throughout most of the book -- there were some areas that were a little too far fetched even for me. That said, I found it to be a great story overall and plan to read the author's book "Ancient Shadows" in the near future.

Yeah, others always ruin things. Interesting info about alchemy woven into the story. But, it's a very long read and I felt a bit too much brutality.

Cool story line that ties in several different locations around the world to a lost expedition in the western United States back in the Lewis and Clark times. Keeps you interested from start to finish. Glad I came across it.
