By way of bibliography, the book includes a note prominently on the same page with the quote of interest, telling where the artifact carrying the quote is located on public display. The book exhibits maps of each ancient empire discussed on the interior of the front and back hinges. Eight different ancient cultures are examined. The not often seen sentiments of both prominent and obscure individuals are presented. Photographs of the actual artifacts carrying the quotes are displayed side by side with the translations of each. This is a terrific coffee table book!
