About the Author

Jerold M. Lowenstein, a young octogenarian at 88 may be the last person alive to have seen the 1946 atomic bomb underwater explosion at Bikini. He was a young officer aboard the USS Albemarle, the naval ship that transported bombs and Los Alamos scientists to the South Pacific atoll under the auspices of Operation Crossroads. He is slowing down a little after a career as a physicist, a nuclear medicine physician and a pioneer researcher in the field of fossil molecules. He has written one novel entitled "The Dark X." After resting his pen hand, he has fabricated this fantastic tale of mystery and mayhem that takes place in 1946, an exciting time in our Atomic history.
