I'll admit, I didn't expect to be dazzled by this sequel to the brilliant Phantom of the Opera, but I certainly didn't expect it to be this awful. Lloyd Webber's musical stylings skip all over the place for this one, from rock (The Beauty Underneath), tacky vaudeville (Bathing Beauty) to the cliched love ballad (Love Never Dies). Lyrics are awful (there are apparently NO other ways to say "beautiful"), personalities seem to have been warped completely from the beloved characters of the original (Raoul's a drunk? Mme. Giry's constant verbal abuse of Meg?). I enjoyed the vocal performances, but the material is just terrible. Should have bought 'Till I Hear You Sing' and 'Devil Take the Hindmost' by themselves; they're the only ones I really enjoyed. Truly a disappointment from Webber.

I was so excited when I found out there was a sequel to Phantom! All the music is great. Andrew Llyod Weber has done it again. The man opening on the West End as the Phantom, Rahim Karimloo, has an amazing voice. It is so soulful. Sierra Boggess, the West End opener as Christine, is extremely talented and has been performing for years.

I really enjoyed it! And i know what people are saying about the plot and all, but the music is very well put together. At times there were those bits that sounded out of place, but other than that i thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend this to any Phantom fan, or any fan of won't be disappointed!
