About the Author

Lucindia Claghorn, S.F.O. is a current member of the Secular Franciscan Order and also serves as a Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Claghorn graduated cum laude, in 1976, with a BA degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Psychology from the University of South Alabama. Ms. Claghorn suffers from a severe mental illness, paranoid schizophrenia. She is currently a patient at AltaPointe Health, formerly known as Mobile Mental Health, in Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Claghorn is a long-term Red Cross volunteer and is also actively involved in the Mobile Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and the Mental Health Association in Southwest Alabama. Ms. Claghorn also serves as a guest lecturer for the College of Nursing at the University of South Alabama, in Mobile, Alabama.
