Angels & Whiskey is an entertaining contemporary romance by Kimberly Knight. Ms. Knight has delivered a well-written book. I love the characters in this book. This book is written in first person, alternating point of view, not my favorite, but it was well-done. Gabe leaves the military and becomes an escort. Autumn has decided she needs to escape from her abusive husband. Autumn and Gabe's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and suspense. I enjoyed reading Angels & Whiskey and look forward to reading more from Kimberly Knight in the future. Angels & Whiskey is book 1 of the Saddles & Racks Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This was my first read by this author and what a great introduction to her work. Gabe is former military. He had known his entire life that was were he belonged until a tragedy changed his life completely. Autumn married the man of her dreams only to have them shattered when he wasn't who she thought he was. Gabe and Autumn meet by chance and both feel the sudden attraction. Gabe knows that Autumn needs help and protection but as a stranger how does he get her to confide in him. The story unfolds over several weeks as the characters become friends and secretly hope for more. This was a fun romance with some suspense thrown in. I felt like the author did a great job developing the characters. I was invested in their outcome. This was a great read and I will be looking for more by this author.

I liked it and it was cute , fun and adventurous all at the same time but the plot seemed to be rushed in the end

Great storyline and characters. The hard part for me to rap me head around was Gabe and Paul getting jobs as escorts. To me that was too far fetched for military guys , especially with their rank. I liked that Gabe and Autumn were able to rescue each other. I expected a different ending for Rich and Remo. Will read more by this author. Mjw

A&W is not only about two people falling in love and saving each other. It also focuses on Amber’s abusive marriage and her struggle to break free. No person deserves to be treated as she was and I hope if anybody needs help they find the strength to seek it after reading Amber’s story.

Angels & Whiskey, A Saddle and Racks Novel, Kimberly Knight Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Romance,Literature and fiction I liked the sound of this one, and reading the amazon sample it sounded like a fun romance with a side of suspense and drama. Sadly though the sample had some of the best of it for me. It devolved into a story that just didn’t feel real, and I couldn’t really get to feel for either Gabe or Autumn. I need to feel the characters are real, need to like (or dislike) them, and to care about what happens, but these stayed as book people and didn’t pull me into their story. It had (for me) such great potential but the way it played out just felt flat. Gabe I thought was going to be a solid, romantic male, but he came across as someone who was still hooked on the idea of love with his past lover, and had just drifted since. He’s working as an escort, gives him and income and some unemotional sex, but its easy to see what’s going to happen there. I just couldn’t see how he went from that man to so in love with Autumn, when they’d barely spoken and even as the days went on it was just a few hurried moments every now and then...then there’s Autumn who’s married, but her husband has gone from sweet and loving pre marriage to a controlling bully after. He watches her every move via cameras, his “people” that spy for him and by questioning her and calling her constantly. She went from that to falling in love with Gabe, when as I’ve said they barely met. Then as the drama plays out it just didn’t feel right to me, lots of potential and yet somehow it led to plots that were just over almost before they began. Parts of it were just very predictable and the drama and suspense I was hoping for just didn’t happen. I skim read the second half as TBH I was bored by then. I’m sure there will be those who love this book, for whom its perfect but it’s just not one for me. Shame as I was really looking forward to it... Stars: Two, its a well written book, but the people and plots just didn’t work for me. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers

This is the first novel I've read from Kimberly Knight, but I was really quite enthralled with it. Great plot, great characters, and great character development makes for a really great book! While I found the part of the story with Autumn's husband to be ultimately a little anti-climactic, I absolutely LOVED Gabe and Autumn's story! I really felt for these two characters, and just couldn't help myself rooting for the HEA for these two. Although their road to love is not an easy one, it most definitely is a heartfelt and beautiful one. As a side note, I also adored Gabe's best friend Paul! If this author hasn't already written him his own book, she most definitely should. He's so sweet and funny, and the good-natured banter between the guys is highly entertaining. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it to anyone in the mood for a lovely and empowering romance.

After coming home from the war and losing his love, Gabe is drowning himself in a bottle of whiskey. He moves to Vegas with his buddy for a job, Gabe spots and his angel, Autumn, on the outside Autumn looks to have the perfect life, the truth is very different. Gabe will stop at nothing to protect his Angel. This book had me hooked from beginning to end, Gabe is a wonderful hero, and you can’t help but fall in love with him. This book is emotional and suspenseful and chemistry between Gabe and Autumn is excellent a great read.

The story of Gabe and Autumn. We start off in a Prologue of a few years prior. Gabe is in the military and in love with a fellow female o the same tour of duty. That ends in death for the poor girl, sending Gabe into a downward spiral. Next we meet Autumn, and she has the best guy ever…until he isn't such a great guy. Abuse of all kinds makes you want to throat-punch the loser! Gabe leaves the military to become a male escort? I guess stranger things have happened. Anyway, Gabe figures out the abuse and knows he has to protect Autumn. Obviously, a relationship ensues. There are some hot encounters, and I was happy this book was a complete standalone. I had a few issues with actions and feelings that just left me feeling 'off' at times. So I decided to rate this a 4 star. I still feel as though it is a good story overall and very enjoyable. Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin Stars Angels and Whiskey is a stand alone novel by Kimberly Knight, her newest writing addition of a collection of wonderful books.  She takes you on a journey of self-reliance, awakening, along with a beautiful love story that will touch you to your soul.  The characters are exquisitely created, with a plot that leaves you breathless. Gabriel Hastings is a ex-army captain turned escort.  He's running away from his demons, one's that were forged in the deserts of Afghanistan.  Not ever believing that he could love again, he meets a woman that blows his mind and he can't get her out of his head.  Struggling with his past, Gabe begins to move forward by pursuing a woman, his angel, who needs rescuing.   Autumn Summers Jones is a woman in all appearances has the perfect life.  She has the perfect husband, perfect house, perfect everything.  However, appearances can be very deceiving.  Autumn is living with a dark secret that is destroying her to the very being of her soul.  Until a chance meeting with Mr. Green Eyes, Autumn didn't think she had choices.  She needs help and Gabe is the knight in shining armor that she's been waiting for. This is a beautiful love story of second chances and redemption.  I was immediately consumed by everything Gabe and Autumn.  Their telling captured my heart while making me feel so many emotions.  From pain to passion, this novel kept me on the edge, bringing me back to a seductively scripted ending.  Thank you Kimberly for my whisky induced coma and angel dreams! 4.3 star The story has laughs, grief, murder, secrets, betrayal, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. This is Autumn and Gabe’s story. Gabe and his friend have relocated for work. The first day he is in town he comes across Autumn. Autumn is married but her husband is not a nice man. She is afraid to leave him as he scares her. But Gabe offers his help so she can leave him. Once the plans are in place something happens that changes the entire plan and dynamic. How can she cope with the betrayal and the pain? Will she ever get away and have a life with Gabe or is that just a dream? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book.
