About the Author

Raquel Schroeder is an Indigenous Educator and Digital Creative in Alaska and Washington. Raquel's mission is to Increase Indigenous Student Success by sharing her story, hosting workshops, and creating culturally-responsive resources and curricula that is relevant to Indigenous Student Populations.

With family ties in Alaska's Bristol Bay and the Bering Strait, Raquel is a member of the Curyung Tribe and is a shareholder of the Bristol Bay Native Corporation. Raquel is a Google Certified Educator and is an Indigenous Education Major at the Ilisagvik Tribal College in Utqiagvik, Alaska.

Raquel and her husband, Zach, have a son and they enjoy spending time traveling, cooking, and keeping busy with projects. They have very close ties to Washington State and visit the Chelan, Douglas, and Grant counties several times per year.
