If you are looking for a quick reference of animal products or bi-products than this is the only book on the market that will serve this purpose. It doesn't go into detail but it gives a brief and comprensive explanation of the majority of chemicals and bi-products derived from animals. It lists the chemical and common names of all entries, in what products it can be found and a brief explanation of the biproduct itself. It often lists alternatives to the animal derived products. It's a useful book if you want to avoid purchasing products that contain animal bi-products. Indespensible really.
