Anything But Mine (Rockstar Romance) by Taryn Elliott

BOOK ONE in an all new Rockstar Romance TRILOGY

Rock star Logan King has come home to Winchester Falls for the annual Summer Festival. Only this time he's hauling a helluva lot more baggage than a few suitcases and vintage guitars. His closet contains more than the usual skeletonsand if he doesn't keep the door firmly locked, someone might get harmed. The specter of what haunts him forces him to turn away from anything more than one-night-stands.

Until Izzy and her topaz eyes finally give him a reason to try again.

Since moving to town Isabella Grace has found friends and a place to belong for the first time in her life. Running the Summer Festival is the perfect way to show how important her new community is. She just never planned on a whirlwind fling with a man too used to saying goodbye. Or to fall for a guy who has as many secrets as he does hit songs.

Logan is used to protecting himself, but protecting Izzy is all new territory. With everything that matters to him at risk, he refuses to let her get hurteven if that means he has to walk away. For her own good.

For Logan King, rock star and frontman for All the King's Men, Winchester Falls, VA, represents home, a safe place away from the frenetic pace that is his life. When Logan returns to Winchester Falls to head up the annual summer festival, he's not prepared for Isabella Grace. Isabella has made Winchester Falls her home, and herself a valued part of the community. In an effort to give back, she's taken on the job of putting together the summer festival. When she and Logan meet, there are sparks and then some. When I open a Taryn Elliot book, I know a few things for sure: I will be hooked immediately, I will fall in love with the characters, and I will love every single minute of the story. Every single one of these things is true of Anything But Mine, the first book in the When You're Gone series. I started reading, and I could NOT put this book down. From the minute that I met Logan and Izzy, along with all the other great residents of Winchester Falls, I could not flip the pages quickly enough. I mean, hello, REALLY hot rock star. And, smart, strong, self-assured woman. This is a match made in heaven, and the heat between them is palpable. Taryn writes so realistically, and with such passion, that I could literally feel the chemistry between Logan and Izzy. Add in the back story of Logan's and Izzy's pasts, and the angst that still fuels him, and this is one heck of a read. Anything But Mine is part of a trilogy, so, yes, there is a cliffhanger. And it's one that will grab you and send you running for Bulletproof Weeks, the second book in the series, so that you can pick up right after the action in this book. I cannot recommend this book, or this series, or Taryn Elliot, strongly enough. She and her characters have quickly become some of my go-tos, and I happily give Logan, Izzy, and the gang 5+ 'steamy, swoony, oh, my gosh, this book is on fire' stars. Add it to your TBR and fall in love.

Prepare to be blown away by Logan King! Rock Superstar! One fabulous long drink of water when you are parched... and when you are not! Picture this... the small town of Winchester Falls is having a festival. Logan has adopted this town as his retreat from the madness of tours and fans. He always brings his band to the festival and they play for free to help raise funds for his foundation, the town benefits too from the crowds and everyone is happy. But this year is a little different. Isabella Grace (Izzy) is there. From the moment they first meet... you know the drill! What you don't know is how scorching hot their interaction is. They are both blown away by the other and fighting the attraction. Izzy does not need a new complication in her life. Logan has enough problems in his with a fan/ex girlfriend that is stalking him. This love affair moves at the speed of light and before you know 4 days together will leave them, and you the reader, breathless! Taryn Elliott, Logan has stolen my heart. He is so self assured and yet so vulnerable. He is a different type of rock star altogether. His passion and tenderness have gotten under my skin. I want more of him... so I am moving on to the next book Bulletproof Weeks!

Intense but passionate: ANYTHING BUT MINE is the first installment in Taryn Elliott’s adult, contemporary When You’re Gone erotic romance trilogy focusing on ‘All The King’s Men’ front man and rock star Logan King and book store owner Isabella (Izzy) Grace.  Told from alternating third person points of view (Isabella and Logan) the storyline focuses on the preparations for the upcoming annual Winchester Falls Summer Festival. For the past several years, Logan King has headlined the festival and festival organizer Isabella Grace is about to meet the man who would break her heart.  Logan King will sweep Izzy off her feet and offer her the world but the world he offers comes with dark secrets, ex lovers and a stalker who is refusing to let go. Logan is a tortured but passionate rock star with a past and a history with the ladies; a past that refuses to let go and in this Logan is constantly looking over his shoulder. He is man whose anxiety level is tempered by Izzy’s constant presence.  Izzy does not suspect that Logan is on the edge of the abyss; she is unfamiliar with his entire back story and in this Izzy will be caught in the path of destruction.  The relationship between Izzy and Logan is quick to develop. Logan is in town for a few days but his attraction to Izzy is beyond compare. After a few tentative back steps, Izzy and Logan will quickly become lovers but the paparazzi are always one step behind. When Logan’s past seductively comes back, Izzy is caught unawares; Logan knows his past has found him but he is blindsided by his need to protect Izzy at all costs. Walking away is the only thing he can do. The numerous secondary and fascinating supporting characters include the members of Logan’s band Zeke, Cage, Morgan and Christian as well as a group of extended friends and fellow musicians including Johnny, Nash and Lindsey; Izzy’s friends Nichole and Adam as well as Sam are her fellow books store owners and support group when things begin to fall apart; and Mayor Sharon Darcy, a woman who places a high demand on Isabella’s time. ANYTHING BUT MINE has moments of humor, fun, romance and plenty of hot $ex followed by heartbreak and anxiety for two people who have fallen in love. Taryn Elliott pulls the reader into an intense but passionate storyline. The storyline ends on a cliffhanger; you will want to know what happens next.

I loved this book. I am a fan of the Lost in Oblivion Series so when I read the synopsis for this book it was a must that I read about another hot, distressed rocker not looking for love. Taryn writes about female characters that are strong and know what they want out of life. Until they meet the rockers that bring them to their knees....and make the rockers act like little puppies! This book is no exception. I love it! Logan, a rockstar worn out and needing to escape to the one place no one will bother him and away from from her. While everyone thinks they are on again off again, they don't the truth about her. Isabelle has been in town for just under a year. She moved there needing to escape the city life and to get her priorities in order. Now, she has her book store with rare and sometimes just old books to keep her busy. Until she signs up to be on the committee for the summer festival. They meet in "the barn". A lot of things happen in "the barn". Both sexy and the creepy. There are strong willed characters shrouded in mystery, guitar trunk scenes (*wink, wink*), and plenty of suspense at the end. Can't wait to read the next one! *I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Anything But Mine, Taryn Elliott Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Mystery & Thrillers, Romance It seems so many romances get divided into trilogies now – and I’d far rather read the story as one complete one. The cliff-hanger ending too – I Hate Them – and this book has a real doozie of one at the end. Bah! I just get so engrossed when its a good read, as this one is, and then - wham, its ended just as I really, really need to know what happens next. By the time the next part is out I’ve lost the flow. What I like to do is to read all the parts on one fell swoop - I enjoy the story so much better that way. Still, this is a part one, and I can’t find any info about when parts two and three are out....hopefully fairly soon Winking smile I do worry about things like that as I’ve a few on my kindle where authors seem to have not gone further than part one and that's really frustrating. Taryn has written several books though, and I’m confident she won’t let her readers down like that. Logan is a great character, he’s a star but without the star arrogance. Handsome, wealthy, successful and yet he’s still that core of Southern gentility, respect for ladies, for older people, a man who wants to help not one who abuses his position. He values what this little town has given him, and wants to give back to it hence his part in the festival. Isabella ( Izzy as he calls her) is a recent import to the town and is running the festival with the help ( or hindrance!) of the Mayor, a lady who’s a bit like a steamroller, but well meaning, even though she disrupts all Izzy’s plans. Logan and Izzy lock heads at first, but the attraction between them is hot, sizzling and Logan can’t help himself from wanting more from her, despite the secrets and problems he’s currently having. Izzy, she’s a lovely lady, has found some peace finally in this little town, full of people she’s come to love. I get the feeling she’s got secrets hidden too, and it’s not just Logan that has them, but hers aren’t out yet. I can’t help wondering what's behind her move to this town. I know she’s got her business partners and their decisions will have factored in, but it feels like there’s more, that she’s escaping from something. Maybe I’m reading too much into the story – I don’t know, its just the impression I get. I love the way Logan rounds up his friends and they all step in, the way the town comes together to work on what’s needed, the way Izzy is so passionate about her business and her post as Festival organiser. She doesn’t seem to have any friends other than those from the town, and that’s part of the mystery of her for me. Then there’s Logan’s problems, they’re just starting in this part and its clear there’s more to come that could place Izzy in danger. That part sounds really promising, could work into some terrific dramatics. I’ve read a few of Taryn’s books now, and she does that drama part so well so I’m hoping for good things from this opening. Stars: Its a great start, my reservations about trilogies and cliff-hangers aside, and I really hope there’s not a long wait til the next two parts are out. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers

Will Hot Rock Star Sex Turn Into Something More For Izzy And Logan, Or Does His Past Ruin Everything? This is a great start to a new Adult series and makes me hope that the other two will receive 5 star ratings. There are hot sexual scenes, but not excessively so in the novel. I love that this novel is not the same old plot of rock star meets girl then some angst before they fall in love. This plot has some great unexpected treats to throw your way. The book kept my interest from the very beginning and I loved the characters in the book. As it is the first of a trilogy, there is a huge cliffhanger. I have to admit that I am anxiously awaiting book two to find out some of the answers that Elliott has unanswered for on purpose. It even has some great suspense interwoven with the romance. So, if you like mystery, thrillers, hot ans steamy sex, and rock and roll romance you are definitely going to be quite happy with this novel.
