Overview

She fought Apaches, the army, her own family.
She fought hatred and prejudice, jealousy and greed.
She fought for solitude. For peace.
But she could not fight the love
in Travis Colton's eyes.

To the Apaches, former captive Daniella Blackwood is the adopted daughter of Cochise. To their shaman, the bold white streak placed in her hair by a bolt of lightning from the Thunder People makes her special; the visions she sees in the flames make her . . . Woman of Magic.

To Arizona rancher Travis Colton, the mysterious young white woman is his only chance of rescuing his son from the Apaches. At first he only uses her to find his son. Then, her startling beauaty, her kind, generous spirit, her sheer bravado in facing her living nightmares, draw him to her time and again. But there are shadows in her eyes . . and terrors in her soul.

Travis vows to be the one man to banish those fears. When she finally turns to him, her love given freely, her passion blazing, two deadly enemies join forces and tear Daniella from his side. When her old fears threaten to overwhelm her, she remembers Travis's love and fights for her life, stalling her would-be murderers until Travis rides to the rescue. And once again he experiences the unleashed splendor of her APACHE MAGIC.

About the Author

Raised on John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and The Lone Ranger, Janis Reams Hudson is a child of the West. She was born in California, grew up in Colorado, lived in Texas, and has called Central Oklahoma home for most of her adult life. Westerns, for her, are a given. After leaving a successful career in broadcast television, Janis decided to do something about all those stories whirling around in her head. She focused her full attention on writing. This took some sacrifice. She chose to give up cooking and cleaning. Her first book was published in 1991, and she hasn’t looked back since.
