Fast paced and rich with period detail and unforgettable characters, APPETITE FOR CORRUPTION takes the reader from the gritty music scene in 1960's North East England to the corporate multi-million dollar Mega-Festivals and glittering Awards Ceremonies of the Twenty First Century. It travels from the sleazy glamour of Hollywood's Sunset Strip in the late 1980's to the gracious stately homes of the English countryside where unbreakable bargains and pacts are made in exchange for undying fame and adoration.
In the late 1960's Geordie Selwyn and his band Church unwittingly set into play a series of events that will have repercussions on the world of rock music and on humanity in general.
Geordie Selwyn doesn't realise that a ruthless and mysterious force with an insatiable appetite has cast its eye on the hearts and minds of his fans until it is almost too late to stop them.
In the end it's down to the battle-scarred old rocker, together with his unlikely band of brothers-in-arms - a burnt out 1990's rock idol, a traumatised teenage survivor of a shattering rock tragedy, a powerful rock impresario and a rock loving middle aged tattoo artist to save the world for rock and roll and humanity.
Ride with our characters on the Rockline and you will discover that there is no success without heartbreaking sacrifice, no hope of a happy ending without shattering secrets being revealed.

About the Author
From my first ever gig - T. Rex at Newcastle City Hall in the 1970's - to more recent trips to the Whisky-A-Go-Go Bloodstock, Sonisphere and, of course, the mighty Download Festivals, going to see live music has always been a total thrill for me and I'm too old to 'grow out of it' now. Thank feck.
But much as I love the music, I have always been fascinated by the stories behind the famous names. From Love/Hate's Jizzy Pearl crucifying himself on the Y of the Hollywood sign to Motley Crüe snorting ants with Ozzy Osbourne, the real life rock and roll tales are so wildly random that you 'couldn't make them up'. You can always embellish them and change the names to protect the guilty however!
Together with my husband, Paul Mortz, who is a tattoo and portrait artist, I have been fortunate enough to get a small glimpse of what goes on backstage at gigs and festivals because some of our wonderful clients and friends work in the music business and they have been kind enough to invite us into their amazing world. If anything this has made me even worse - I remain the biggest fan-girl you could possibly imagine.
Writing 'Appetite for Corruption' has been a wonderful experience for me. I know what I like in a book and I have endeavoured to make it an entertaining and amusing tale along with a touch of horror and a couple of 'I'm filling up!' moments. So far it seems that people like what I've done. 'Appetite' will be succeeded by the second book in the Rockline series, which I am planning to set in Las Vegas.
Thank you for reading my little scribbles. As Mr O would say, "I love you all!"

Get ready to blast back to the rock scene across the pond, in the late 1960’s, the glitz of the 90’s all the way to the present day corporate takeover in venues that rake in the big bucks and millions of fans. Are they all ripe for the “picking?” Will aliens hold feast days at every rock concert? So maybe our parents had the enemy wrong, but just maybe there was a grain of truth in their anti-rock preaching! Appetite for Corruption by Hilary Mortz calls to both music lovers and science fiction aficionados with an interesting look behind the “behind the scenes” happenings in the world of rock. With great descriptive scenes, fascinatingly unique characters and evil in hot pursuit, Ms. Mortz’ beat goes on, bar after bar, note after note!
