Fans of Bob Loader’s more anecdotal contributions to ‘Model Engineer’s Workshop’ will find plenty of engineering lore and incidents in the pages of "Apple ‘62", a cold war espionage story set in England in the late 1960s. The Zurowski affair is apparently over, as dead as poor Jan Zurowski, whose wife Pam was stealing his top secret, groundbreaking research on radar. For Charlie Ellman, cleared of suspicion of having been one of Pam’s collaborators, life has returned to its customary groove. With an amiable new colleague at work and an attractive new neighbor next door, Charlie’s life seems to be on the up and up. But Charlie can’t quite rid himself of the suspicion that he’s still under surveillance, and he’s about to discover that the Zurowski affair isn’t so dead, after all.
