Overview

A motorcycle accident five years ago had destroyed Linda's love life, and killed her new husband, Phil Wilson.

Then a new tragedy had struck this past year. A house fire and an auto accident ruined the life of her young nephew, Richie, leaving him an orphan in a wheelchair. It turned to ashes the home of her brother and his wife of eleven years.

Linda had been living in emotional numbness for the past five years, since the first tragedy left her suspicious about her fiance's untimely death. All her hopes of a bright, promising life of family and every day happiness had gone up in flames.

She doubted that God could ever bring something good out of all that surrounded these miserable events.

Her story is centered at a farm of apple trees and Christmas trees near a small town in Michigan on the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The mysterious ex-spy, Whit Brockman, is hired by Linda to be a companion, during rehab therapy, for her nephew Richie.

Carl, Linda's tree farm manager, becomes jealous and possessive of Linda when she installs Brock in the small cottage beside the main house.

Just when Linda begins to trust her romantic feelings for Brock, she sees him with another woman, and discovers that he is making secret telephone calls.

Brock recognizes a young woman tutor at Richie's swim therapy program and causes her to be fired.

Linda's doubts grow deeper and her emotions grow colder.

Will Richie ever be able to walk again?

Will Linda be able to love again after she discovers the truth about her fiance's death?

Will Brock's covert mission on the St. Lawrence Seaway be successful?
