This book I used for some independent study courses to reteach myself Calculus I and II that I took ten years earlier. The book is very straightforwarded especially in matters of applying calculus through word problems of business, biology, medicine and engineering applications. Book does go from one step to next so previous information helps in the future chapters. It presents well thought definitions and theorems with their proofs. The only drawback to this book was a few typos here and there that any layperson would notice. Aside from that, this a great book at a good price from Barnes and Noble to use as reference book for applied calculus or general study of calculus.
