This is a good book for someone beginning to learn applique or embroidery. The first section describes transferring and placing a pattern on fabric. It continues with the way to stitch an applique and even talks about reverse applique. How to hoop and do ribbon embroidery is next. Then one way to embroider leaves is shown next. Ruched Roses, pressing and trimming finish up the chapter. The whole alphabet is next with the pattern ready for transfer. In the section names, More Stitches, how to do fabric embroidery (embroidery using fabric instead of just thread) covers many types of fabric embroidery. In the final chapter labeled Projects, there are six from a quilt to a sachet. The last pages have an enlargement and reduction chart and an author bio. If you want to learn fabric embroidery or beginning applique, this book will cover that information well.
