Nora gets strong armed into going out with David as a favor to her cousin who is courting his business. Thinking it was just for one event she went with his story that she was a high fashion model even though she had just arrived in NYC that day from the family farm in Ohio. David has a history of falling for women who are just after his contacts so all he wanted was arm candy to keep away other women and make no demands for a relationship. Luckily for both of them sometimes the best made plans go astray and love can overcome misunderstandings if pride is put aside. Lovely story of two beautiful people from seperate worlds finding each other in The Big Apple. I loved these guys and will look for more stories in this series.

Epilogue or not, I loved this story. A bit predictable, but still a wonderful romance. And who doesn’t love a Brit and a girl from Ohio!!! Really enjoy Patricia Ryan’s writing style. Lovely!

Great All he wanted was arm candy for a benefit dinner. She came to NY City to expand her jewelry business. She was going to stay with her cousin. He need the connection to David and begged his cousin Nora to do this favor for him. Little did he know what would happen next.

Don't let the cover influence you; it doesn't represent the story. Nora has just come to Manhattan from Ohio and is staying with her cousin, Harlan, until she gets her own place. He has a lucrative career in "events production". Nora is stunningly beautiful, but hides her looks in outsized clothing in order to be taken seriously. Dating has been very hard for her because she doesn't trust that any man will look beyond her physical beauty to get to know her. Her dream is to sell her unique jewelry, self designed and crafted, as a career. Harlan introduces Nora to the concept of "arm candy", paying a beautiful, intelligent woman to act as a date for social functions for men of high social standing, no sex allowed, no money exchanged. A status symbol. Harlan pleads with Nora to do him this favour since it's already set up for that night - go to the Red Cross benefit with David Waite, head of a high level fundraising organization, tall, dark and very handsome. Nora is to pretend to be a model, not speak too often and be attentive to David. Harlan's roommate, Kevin, handles the wardrobe and makeup for an off-Broadway show so finding a suitable dress , doing her hair and makeup poses no problem. What begins as one evening streches into more days and nights and Nora is hard pressed to maintain the pretense of being a model and to not reveal that she is the artist of her jewelry. There are bumps on the road to love and they hit them hard. An amazing and very romantic novel with witty, funny dialogue. I loved Beryl Van Auken. Thank you, Patricia Ryan

If you like lots lf sex, this book is for you. Kind of far fetched but ok story line. Abrupt ending...needs an epilogue but many authors today avoid them for some reason. So this book feels incomplete even with the HEA.

This was a good quick read. I gave it three stars because there were very few editing errors. I would have given a higher review if the book had been longer, which I think it could have been. It ended rather abruptly, and it would have been nice to have gotten an epilogue.

So the title was a bit misleading in that I thought this might be a cheesy read and hesitated to purchase it. Yet the synopsis sounded glad I did. A little bit of a slow start but I fell head over heals in love with the characters, their humor and flswd, the romance in its simplicity and the charm. Just a feel good romantic story that left me wanting to grow old with tgem...very sweet.

I kept reading because it was a cute, fun love story. Some typos but i got over that. Wasnt too happy with the ending. Would have like to see like a few pages about their future together. But overall kept me reading.

Arm Candy by Patricia Ryan is book 3 in the Hot City Nights series. David Waite is a wealthy British fundraiser in New York City. He is tired of all of the social climbers and users, so he decides that the perfect solution is to having “Arm Candy”, a beautiful woman to accompany him as his regular date. Nora Armstrong is a virginal beauty fresh from the Midwest. Her cousin asks her to go out with David as a favor to him, in order to promote his event planning business. She can’t say no just as she can’t say no to David’s request for another date and another and so on. Will these two be able to be what the other needs in order to find love and happiness? This was an enjoyable story with characters that were well written, authentic and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
