He had only one thing in his mind, take delivery of his brand new plane and fly to Taormina, in the isle of Sicily. At takeoff, he’s the pilot and the only passenger who wants the sky all for himself; he even befriends a few clouds. Leg after leg the plane fills up quickly, somehow with interesting characters. Martina, a nosy young girl from the Broomfield Colorado aircraft service center; Mr. Patel, an unfortunate and confused shop owner from Canada, whose plan 'to teach his wife a lesson' turns amusingly messy; Greenlandic Sister Antoinette, the most welcomed of all; and Sisto, an Italian photo comic star who becomes very fond of Martina―at a price. Some passengers become a drag to Alfonso’s voyage; he complains and threatens to unload the undesirables, but he decides to carry on until the arrival into Sicily. In Taormina, Alfonso and Sister Antoinette nurture a true friendship, which soon leads to open questions, and perhaps controversy. What is up in the air?
