About two young boys and how they coped with the Great Depression, working at various jobs to earn spending money: Circus roustabouts, gathering scrap metal from alleys, caddying, delivery rider for Western Union, to mention a few. Arnold, the younger of the two, but streetwise, finds the jobs, and by hook or crook, always gets more than his share, but he's such a lovable little rogue, you find yourself forgiving him.
