If you want to make the most out of H&H's Art of Electronics, you must get this book. It has many worked examples that clearly explain points that the book makes. It also concentrates on applications. The downside of both books is that they are over a decade and a half old. The analog material is mostly up to date, but there are no good lab exercises on active filters or power MOSFET applications. The digital material on sequential and combinatorial circuits is fine, but the microprocessor chapters are dated.
