I love the author's witty and humourous approach to the subject of mingling..a great read...but this is not the latest edition. Make sure that you get the updated version that just came out in October of 2006 in paperback....she has updated alot of sections and it is definitely the one to have for the new millenium!

I bought this book thinking it was the newly updated and revised edition, which I just read about and which was just published this fall. So, while I found the book to be helpful and quite funny, a lot of it is horribly out of date. (For example Cigarettes as Props: pros and cons.') I suggest people try the new edition. I'm going to.

What trash! Rather than treating people with honor and respect, as anyone would like to be treated, this book suggests using deception and manipulation to make a game out of talking to people who don't know you. I bought this book hoping to get some simple hints and questions that I could use to approach people in social settings who I don't know. I can't expect that people who have trouble 'mingling' would get any help from reading this book.
