Overview

Up-and-coming designer Lindy is going through a lot of changes. A fabulous career opportunity, a big show at a local art gallery and even a promising flirtation with the town's most eligible bachelor. It's a lot for a shy, small-town girl to handle. Now if she can just find the time (and nerve) to seduce her sexy neighbor Richard.

Lindy's wanted Richard since college, and her unrequited crush hasn't lessened now that they live in neighboring lofts. A wickedly handsome ladies' man, Richard isn't boyfriend material. Lindy knows that. But she suspects he's perfect for the job she has in mind--getting rid of her pesky virginity once and for all.

Caution! This book contains brief depictions of some hot, consensual spanking and bondage (never fear; later books in the series will contain much lengthier descriptions of hot, consensual spanking and bondage).

This sexy novella is a friends to lovers story, two artistic neighbours who've counted on each other for late night discussions and movie nights on the couch. But Lindy's decided that Richard is the man she wants to take her virginity (that pesky detail that affects her dating life, usually in a negative way). She trusts him, and knows he'll make it good for her. She just doesn't realize how good being with him is going to be... I enjoyed this one! We met Lindy in the first book in the series (How to Tell a Lie) as a friend of the heroine Allison. Lindy is an artistic woman who makes sometimes eclectic but always interesting pieces with fabric. She is now looking into expanding her business and she's got an offer on the table from a home outfitting company that can see her work marketed with them, if she wants to take the risk of moving to a bigger business. And her neighbour Richard, well, let's just say he's never without female companionship and Lindy figures if she's going to take the leap with her business, she should take a leap with her love life too. All she wants from Richard is some no strings attached sex, but here is where the title comes in - because she and Richard might be lying to themselves about keeping things as just friends when deeper emotions are really starting to come into play. Their love scenes are steamy, but just as interesting was them coming to realize how much they mean to each other. Very enjoyable, looking forward to the next one!
