Halloween is becoming a more and more popular holiday, and a big reason why seems to be because of how much fun it is to decorate for. In Artful Halloween the focus is largely on the more grown up, elegant ideas for the holiday. Pumpkin decorating has come a long way since I was a child and there is a whole section devoted to embellishing pumpkins with suggestions like paint, studs, chains and stickers. There are ideas for decorating indoors and out, my favorite outside decoration is the tin can man. I'm saving my cans to recycle them into this little guy, which is made with a paint bucket body, tin can limbs and head and a funnel on top for a hat. What I have already made though, are some of the totally adorable button and bead spiders. They are very fancy bugs, which use any old costume jewelry you have and with a little wire bending, it's really easy to make these lovely long legged creatures (and I don't usually think of bugs as "cute"!). Artful Halloween has lots of great ideas to make decorating for Halloween easy and elegant.
