If you are interested in reading the first, romantic retelling of Arthur's legends as we think of them, this is it. It is a series of short stories about Arthur and/or the knights of his court, each of which reads fairly quickly. The original work was in Old French, which is why the style of the prose takes a little getting used to. Once one gets accustomed to the writing, its hard not to get hooked on the stories. My biggest disappointment with this book is that Troyes died before finishing the last story--Parcival!
