Libby and Ted have been happily married for over twelve years and live a picture perfect life; two beautiful kids, a successful business, a gorgeous home in the suburbs, money, friends, and most importantly, one another. After all these years, they are passionately in love, two of the lucky few - or so Libby believes - until one snowy evening, the unthinkable happens. And she learns...nothing is as it seems.

This is Jayne Conway's second novel, and I've enjoyed reading this as much, or more than I did her first effort. While that first novel, "What If I Fly", followed the evolving romance of some twenty-somethings, "As It Seems" looks at two fortyish couples, their friendships, their interactions, and their marriages. As you read, you'll quickly see that the title relates to how our public faces and the public face of our relationships may not match what happens behind closed doors. It may not at all be "As It Seems". I found the story and the characters well developed and believable. I found myself liking Libby and Ted and especially Ginger, and I think you will as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
