A very gritty tale that exposes the world of excesses and those trying to get back to common ground. Within the rock genre, yet the detail here is much more on dependency; even one that is choking a person to death. This personifies life as we encounter the main male character. Then enter a wounded female character with an understanding of dependency. Here begins their romance and the unfolding of healing, growth, repair, understanding, acceptance, support and love. Support does not take over nor command but comes along side another person. This is precisely what the two main characters do for each other at the beginning of this story that solidified their friendship. Much edification on the trials and tribulations of what being an addict is, living as an addict, trying to surmount being an addict and the damage inflicted, not just upon the addict, but to all who are close in the life of an addict. Through this struggle there are sensual scenes between the two main characters. In the case of this addict, there is a happy ever after albeit knowing that he will always be an addict. Excellent reading, not just for those wanting to read about rock stars or romance but about life in general. I received an advance review copy of this novel via Booksprout and I am leaving an honest review.

This is book 4 in the Rusted and Reckless series and it features Nix and Ruby. Yes, he’s back and he’s not sure of a whole lot these days. His story is inspiring but when you’re an addict, there’s so much more to recovery than putting a stop to whatever you’re addicted to. This is Phoenix “Nix” Noland‘s recovery story with a sexy neighbor thrown into the mix. She’s cute and they have explosive chemistry but there’s so much more involved than being cute. Bravo! The story line is well written with totally awesome characters. Most definitely looking forward to book 5!

This is book 4 of the Rusted and Reckless series and it’s an absolutely fantastic read. This is Phoenix’s and Ruby’s story, Phoenix ( Nix ) walked off stage over a year ago high as a kite and no one knew what happened to him not even his band mates. Nix was in rehab trying to get himself together and now he’s finally out and still trying to stay clean and sober, he meets his new neighbour and they strike up a friendship. Ruby caught her sister and her fiancée in bed together, betrayed and heart broken she moves across the country into a new apartment. Ruby tries to open the door to her apartment but the key doesn’t fit that’s when Nix opens the door and see’s Ruby standing there, he explains that the numbers are mixed up and he shows her the right apartment., after that they become very good friends and it eventually leads to more. Nix talks to Ruby about his addiction and Ruby understands because she went through it with her father so they both help each other. I loved this story Nix and Ruby were the perfect imperfect couple and Nix’s addiction felt so real that I had tears rolling down my cheeks, this is a wonderful story about two people overcoming their struggles together. I loved ❤️❤️ this story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read, a 5 ⭐️ plus read.

I loved this book. It is by far my favorite in the series. I hurt for both Nix and Ruby for what has happened in their lives. I just want to hold Nix and then hang out with Ruby.

Your review Verified ARC Reader I recommend this author and series and I'm looking forward to the next. by Melissa Ferryman **POSSIBLE SPOILERS** This is the 4th book in the Rusted and Reckless series by Charlotte Casey and it is just as good as the first 3. It tells Nix's story of recovery and some of his trails and errors in getting back with the band. Nix reached rock bottom a year ago and disappeared without any word to his brother or the band and now he is back, trying to fit in. It's a hard road for him, the band is trying but he just won't let them in because he is so afraid to mess up again and does not want to hurt them anymore. In knocks Ruby (actually she tries unlock the wrong door, gripes about the key not fitting the entire time. Lol) Nix's new neighbor down the hall. They are attracted to each other from the start but she has her own baggage to deal with. There is a lot of miscommunication that causes feelings to be hurt (both Ruby, Nix and the band) along with a near relapse that started and ended in a big misunderstanding. This is a good story with heart ache, anguish, and a long rode to recovery that is not over. I happy that Nix got his start of a happy ever after. This can read as a standalone. I recommend this author and series and I'm looking forward to the next.

Ruby packed up her belongings and moved across the country after she found her fiancee in bed with her sister. Phoenix "Nix" Nolan is lead singer for the popular band Rusted and Reckless, he is an addict and is fighting to stay sober. Ruby isn't prepared for the gorgeous man that opens the door that she is sure is her apartment. Nix opens his door and finds a young woman, keys in hand and frustrated, he explains her mistake and sends her in the direction of her apartment. Fantastic book, with fascinating characters, new and familiar, I love this series. Nix and Ruby are both trying to reclaim their lives and move on, and they will play important roles in their efforts to recover from past hurts. A must read romance, I loved this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

Ashes is the 4th book in the Rusted and Reckless rockstar romance series. It could be read as a standalone, but there may be a few gaps. I recommend reading the previous books, especially book 3, Endure. In the previous books, we learned that Nix [Phoenix] walked off stage during a performance stoned. He disappeared for nearly a year before turning up at one of their shoes. In this book, you watch a Nix struggles to find his place back in the band all while facing his ongoing battle of dealing with his heroin cravings. Meanwhile, Ruby suffers the ultimate betrayal and moves across the country to lick her wounds and to have a new beginning. She moves into the same apartment as Nix. The two form an unlikely friendship. Will Ruby’s romantic feelings be returned by Nix? Will their relationship develop into something more? We can I loved both characters in this book and the storyline was interesting. The book moved at a good pace, but did seem a little rushed at the end. This book does a great job depicting what it is like to have a drug addiction. The daily struggle and also the affect it has on surrounding friends and family. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this friends-to-lovers romance and I hope that Rory gets his own book. I received this book as an ARC from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review
