THOSE TWO STRUCK SPARKS FROM THE SECOND THEY MET The story is a mystery with romantic suspense. Detective Brad Thornton is at the scene of a break-in of a quaint little eclectic shop called Joyful Wonders owned by Ashley Morrissey. Ashley has a reputation for being a spirited little firecracker, which sometimes goes off on a tangent. Brad tries to get her to calm down, leave and go home, and allow the police to do their job. Going home proves to be just as bad when someone is in her home and knocks her out. Brad is now on alert; this appears to be more than just a breaking and entering; someone is after something, and they are willing to do whatever is necessary to find it. The story is full of angst, attitude, mystery, suspense, with one spunky redhead business owner, and one equally aggravated detective. What is a case of trying to find out what someone is after, brings Brad and Ashley together full time, he must keep her safe. Can two people fall in love at first sight? How far will Brad go to keep this special lady safe? There are plenty of well-earned spankings in this story, but no sex scenes. What will it take for Ashley not to jump to conclusions, trust Brad, and her Grandfather? The story has a great cast of characters and plenty of action and ending including the solved mystery.

This is a fun story trying to find who trashed a lovely little shop called Joyful Wonders, which is owned by Ashley Morrison. Ashley is a spitfire and Detective Brad Thornton sends her home to cool down so he can get going with the investigation. Ashley sees her door open and instead of calling Brad she walks right in and gets hit from behind. She ends up in the hopital and is fuming. When she gets out Brad gives her a spanking and they get on with trying to find out what the person is looking for to go to such lengths. I enjoyed reading the mystery and the dynamics between the two.

I enjoyed this book very much. It's a clean dd romance with a dangerous mystery to keep you in suspense. The characters are all very well developed. Ashley is a hotheaded, independent woman who is full of sass and a little too much courage. She is competent and caring when her temper doesn't get the best of her. She loves fiercely and will protect her loved ones at all costs. That includes Brad, the detective who is trying to keep her safe. He is falling hard for Ashley, but he's old-fashioned and respectful, hence the clean romance. He doesn't hesitate, however, to mete out discipline when necessary, which happily is quite often with Ashley. Luckily, Brad has permission from Ashley's grandfather, Frank, to do what is necessary to keep her safe. Frank is a great character too and really added to the depth of the story. The book was very well written as one expects from this talented author. The plot was action packed with plenty of tenderness of various kinds. I highly recommend this book.

Cute short story that contains lots of spanking, laughter, suspense and love. I found this book very true to the author’s style and although not long in length, a very developed story. The plot moves along at a brisk pace and I found myself enjoying Ashley and Brad’s romantic relationship very much. As always, a wonderful supporting cast of characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Officer Brad Thornton comes to Ashley's rescue in an emergency. Problem is Ashley doesn't think she needs someone to save her and especially not someone who believes in spanking. She was raised by her grandfather who spanked and she doesn't want to spend her adult life getting disciplined like a little girl. Brad stays around to protect her during a dangerous time and independent Ashley realizes he gas no problem warming her bottom. Spanking, but no sexual activity.

4 stars Ashley is a woman that has recently opened up a gift shop and wants to prove she can do things on her own. Detective Brad Thornton is an old fashioned kind of guy that is called to the scene of a break in at her shop. Sparks fly when Ashley gives him sass for questioning her and not being out there catching whoever did this. It really is love at first sight for them both. There is the mystery of who trashed her shop as well as other things. Brad believes she is in danger and tries to protect the one he cares for. Ashley likes to solve crimes even if she is the one in danger. Let’s just say that the sparks fly and Ashley ends up being taken in hand for her sass and her not following orders. It was an enjoyable read with no sexual scenes and just love blossoming, if the two of them don’t frustrate each other first.
