Overview

James was surrounded by fear. He and everyone else with Asperger's had been thrown into a concentration camp, and fear was everywhere. His fellow inmates had no idea what was going on. Innocent victims: that's what they were. The government had obviously panicked, losing control and giving into external pressures. After they revealed that everyone on the autistic spectrum descended from aliens, they used these camps all over the world, supposedly to protect them, to keep them safe. But in reality, they felt the need to control them. They feared that, when the time came, they would attack the human race. James couldn't help but feel sorry for them. They didn't know what was going on, that Earth was going to be invaded by the Nequitians, using his brother's DNA. He had to escape. Outside these walls were drones set to contain them, but James was going to have to save the world. He had to so he could save his brother.

Reviewed by Chris Fischer for Readers' Favorite Wow! Just, wow! How's that for a review? That's honestly what I thought when I finished reading author Roy Dias' fantastic new novel, The Aspeans: The Invasion. Follow the story of James, a young man with Asperger's syndrome, as he and others with Asperger's have been confined to a concentration camp by the government. After the revelation was made that everyone on the Autism Spectrum was descended from aliens, a mass panic ensued. Not understanding what this information meant for those not on the spectrum, the government acted rashly and, in an attempt to control all those with Asperger's, confined them all together. But what the government doesn't know, what James does, is that Earth is about to be invaded by the Nequitians, who have obtained James' brother's DNA. If James doesn't escape, doesn't save his brother, the whole of Earth and all humanity will be doomed. I loved this book. LOVED it! This is a book for anyone who loves a great sci-fi read, but for anyone who either has Asperger's syndrome or who has a family member or friend who does, this book is that much greater. Author Roy Dias has done a truly masterful job in writing a book with unconventional heroes that the reader will come to root for, care about, and continue to think about long after the book is done. I was not surprised at all to find out that author Dias has Asperger's syndrome, as well as children with Asperger's. I don't think this book could be written as authentically by someone without his very unique perspective. I highly recommend The Aspeans: The Invasion and I absolutely cannot wait to see what author Roy Dias has in store for his readers next.
