"Making a street painting is a lot like constructing a sand castle: while working on one part, another part is eroding... Street painting is a constant reminder that art is about process rather than product." -- Kurt Wenner
Asphalt Renaissance brilliantly recounts the re-imagining of street painting by innovative artist and Internet sensation Kurt Wenner. Wenner revolutionized this ancient art by creating a technique that produces astounding images in 3-D--images that reach out of the pavement toward the viewer and appear perilously deep.
Featuring photographs of hundreds of his paintings, this volume spans Wenner's career and captures his thoughts on art and the ephemeral nature of his work.

Wenner's art invites you into a world of art so beautiful and intricate, it grips your heart and mind. It speaks volumes. Love it!!!
The world, most recently via the internet, has marveled at these "3-D" street paintings. If you have been lucky enough to see one of these amazing artworks on the street (before it washed away) or if you have ever seen these on the internet (there have been enough passed around via email to crash any number of servers) - then you need to have this book in your home. It is the real story of the art of street painting as told by Kurt Wenner, the artist who brought his own illusionistic painting style to the art form to make it the sensation it is today. This book is really great, enjoyable easy read --- with AMAZING images of the art....
