This is the first novel I read by Lisa Riley and it was very disappointing. I had such high hopes after reading the great reviews, but the story just didn't work for me. Not to mention the many typos and the different fonts (what was that about?). This has to be the worse IR novel I've ever read. It started off decent, I enjoyed the love at first sight meeting, but it went downhill after that. I became bored with the 'monkey wrench' that kept the couple from getting together for so long. And I got sick of Caroline and her childish antics. She acted like a spoiled, whiney brat at times. I enjoyed Brian's character and thought he was a fool to put up with all her silly, childish and stubborn ways. And I thought their was too much negativity surrounding the whole race issue, especially coming from Caroline. Many times I wanted to put it down and I found myself skipping paragraphs and pages hoping it would get better, but it never did and I just couldn't wait for the story to end...'At Last'!

I enjoyed reading this love story that had it's share of different plots. I'm glad that Lisa Riley didn't make too much of a big deal about the racial differences of the two leads. Brian's character was very well written and believable. Caroline was an interesting leading lady. The only problems that I had with this was the various typos in this book. Also at times, different print! Who is editing this book? There were also the various mentions of Caroline's hair. I'm not sure why the writer had to mention so many times, just how beautiful and long Caroline's hair was. Otherwise, I look forward to the obvious continuation of this novel. As an African-American woman involved in an interracial relationship, it's great to see more books out there reflecting this type of love.

A very touching love story. What capture my attention was the phyical atraction between Brian and Caroline when they first met. I like way Brian show his love for Caroline when he stood up to her uncle and stood his ground with her father which he had just pass the test with him. At first Caroline was doubtful of their relationship because Brian was white and she was black. However when Caroline's life is put in danger she was able to let Brain help her and let go of her misgivings to put her love and trust in him to save her life. This story shows that love has no color.

This lovely romance is told with a lot of input from the hero Brian, and I for one just loves to hear from the mens perspective on chasing the love of his life. Throw in that she is black and he is white, with all the hang ups coming from her. And the story takes on a different spin. Well told romance with just the right amount of drama. If you are a fan of interracial romance like myself don't miss this one.
