Meet the Author

PETER MATTHIESSEN has written eight novels and a book of short stories. His parallel career as a naturalist and environmental activist has produced numerous acclaimed works of nonfiction, most of them serialized in the New Yorker. He was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1974. He is a founder of the Paris Review and has won two National Book Awards.

Anthony Heald has earned Tony nominations and an Obie Award for his theater work, appeared in television's Law & Order, The X-Files, Miami Vice, and Boston Public, and starred as Dr. Frederick Chilton in the 1991 Oscar®-winning film Silence of the Lambs. He lives in Ashland, Oregon, with his family.

I rarely read a book that I can't finish and this is one of them. I saw the movie and loved the movie so much that I thought to read the book to get a further perspective of the story, characters, etc. Instead I found a book that was boring and almost incomprehensible
