Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Peg Glisson
Activity and excitement are the order of the day, or weekend, at NASCAR tracks. For many, time at the track is more than three or four hours of racing; it is an experience that includes military flyovers, celebrity entertainment, drivers' autographs, food, and post-race celebrations. Different tracks and road courses are also described. Like the other books in the "Edge Books NASCAR Racing" series, this title also contains numerous, well-placed color photographs with bold captions to augment the text. An excellent chart detailing racing flags is also included, as is a glossary, index, and suggested reading and internet sites. Short, simply written sentences make the information accessible to young or struggling readers. The book's clean, crisp design, using bold fonts, colors, and graphics, add to the appeal.
