Overview

At The Turning Point (Choices: Story One) by Beth Carpenter

When Donna decides to mark her divorce with a trip to Las Vegas, she doesn’t expect to find herself with a ring on her finger at the bedside of a man she hardly knows. But her experience there helps her gain the wisdom she needs to make her own life-altering decision.

A short story. Not a typical happily-ever-after romance. Also includes an excerpt from "Last Flight From Flagstaff."

For those who believe in fate - this story confirms it. Some people are just meant to be together - even if it takes years. I can realy see this as a much longer and further developed story. The ending seemed a little abrupt to me but overall the story was very enjoyable.

This is a well developed short story about a 40ish recent divorcee whose husband left her for a 20ish girl in the office. The story takes us to Las Vegas where our heroine meets a 50ish gentleman, gets drunk and winds up married. A typical Vegas story to this point but 40isn and 50ish? Realizing a mistake has been made, the couple when sober decide to rectify the situation. The story takes a spin when the husband suffers a stroke and is rushed to the hospital. Then the families need to be told of the marriage and the stroke, a most interesting development. From there the story really evolves with the characters reacting intelligently to the events and the heroine doing some soul searching about her life and her future. This book is well worth the read.
