Virginia Beach human empathic Riley Dawson tries to use her gift to help improve the lives of people her need to help is why she became a social worker. However, even Riley is unprepared when she meets the High Prince of Atlantis Conlan. The Warrior of Poseidon is on a mission to recover the missing trident before a war ignites.--------------- He has no time or inclination for the female human though he admits to himself she is attractive. Instead he believes his destiny starts with recovering the trident to save his people from the vampire horde already overwhelming them when they took control of the city. However getting rid of Riley proves more difficult than his quest as she knows he is her soulmate and that she is destined to help him and the Warriors of Poseidon fight the powerful bloodsuckers.------------------ The first Warriors of Poseidon book is a fascinating romantic fantasy that uses vampires and shapeshifters to create a unique vision of Atlantis in which sub-genre fans will want to follow their exploits way down beneath the ocean. The story line is action-packed starting with Conlon¿s return to the capital after a seven plus year exile and never slows down until the final confrontation. The attraction between the lead couple is magnetic, but the hero must choose between forbidden love and duty. Readers will welcome Alyssa Day¿s delightful ATLANTIS RISING.----------- Harriet Klausner

I know it's untraditional to start a review this way, but I wanted to say that I fully support every fan who wants to support their favorite author. With that being said, I want to add that with all the people in the world, it will always be possible, in fact plausible that more than one person will get the same idea or even set of ideas. It's what you do with those concepts amidst your story that makes it unique! 'After all look at Holy Blood, Holy Grail versus the Da Vinci Code - 2 sets of authors with the same research, yet producing different books'. Atlantis Rising is a fascinating romantic fantasy that tells a great tale of Atlantis with its own twists involving shapeshifters and vampires! Allysa Day does a fabulous ob of crossing genres again! While on a quest to recover the powerful missing Trident, the High Prince of Atlantis comes across the attractive Riley who is a social worker, but more importantly an empath. It is forbidden for a Sentinel of Atlantis to fall in love with a human and he denies the sensations that begin to manifest when he is around Riley. Riley, being an empath, knows he is her soul mate and won¿t let him go without a fight. Crossed between love and duty is their romance doomed for failure or will love conquer all! I was completely drawn into the story. You won¿t want to miss out on this tantalizing fantasy!

Must Read! Romantic Paranormal Adventure. Vampires, Werewolves, and Hot Atlantean Warriors, what more could a woman ask for? A lot! At least that’s what Alyssa Day delivered in this outstanding paranormal romance. Alyssa Day has seamlessly woven our world with the not so lost continent of Atlantis. Vamps and werewolves revealed themselves over a decade ago, so it’s only a few more steps to acknowledge a few sexy Atlantean warriors, right? Riley Dawson has no choice but to come to terms with this fact, since their prince can’t keep his hands off her, as a result of this strange new compulsion, Conlan inadvertently brings Riley to the unwanted attention of the vampires. So what’s a prince to do? Take her home with him, of course. At least that’s what he and his warriors decide. Implementing that action is an entirely different manner. From beginning to end, this book pulled me onto it’s roller-coaster ride of highs and lows. I cried, laughed, and shook my head at the idiocies of men, It was great. I can’t wait to open the pages, of the next book in this delightful series.

Atlantis is a great plot, and I was hoping for something like Nymph King, but this book doesn't deliver. Instead of actually trying to fight off the Atlantean Prince, our main girl jumps right into his arms willingly two seconds after meeting him. I thought I could get over that, but the book forgot to describe how humans know of the existance of certain creatures, and it failed to show plot in other areas that were huge in the story. Two many holes in the plot, and some of the stuff was just odd and disbelievable. The fact that she makes such quick friends with certain people, then others let her in so easily just because she had done something odd before, charactors who had absolutley no reason for their actions. The main man is weird and reacts angrily just because someone had a strange tone with the girl, one of his best friends, really goes too far and lost me completely. I just couldn't stand them after that point. What lost me was SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS, when she accidently climbed into his mind and saw his parents murdered, and then told him she would trust him forever because of the pain he felt, SPOILERS OVER SPOILERS OVER. That lost me. The later on when one of the charactors is injured she jumps to way too much.. I will not be returning to this series. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

I have read a lot of fantasy and paranormal romance in my day, and Alyssa is one of the authors that is a must-buy for me every time. Combining humor, love, pain, and really REALLY hot men, Alyssa Day creates a world of magic and heart-stopping romance. A true fan of the genre would not want to miss this series!! :)

Conlan, is the high prince of Atlantis and soon to be crowned King. He has recently returned from being tortured and captured. Now he has returned to his home, but still feels shattered on the inside. When the Tritan of Poseidon goes missing, he and his team must go after those that stole it, and travel up above the sea to the humans. Riley Dawson, is a empath and a social worker, and even though there are times that she loves her job, at this moment she hates this job. She has a case where someone gets murdered and there was nothing she could do to stop it. So feeling like she is suffocating, she goes to the sea ,where she will feel peace and be at calm, but then she gets attacked by three men and is saved by a gallant warrior, who is unlike anything she has ever seen. Beautiful, powerful and he shares a emotional bond to her. He can hear her thoughts and emotions, and she has no idea what to make of him. Even though Riley is human, Conlan feels a connection to this woman the likes of which he has never known. He knows that there is something uniquely special about this fragile woman who has wormed her way into his soul. When Conlan and Riley get thrown together, and battling for their lives, they get taken on a adventure dealing with werewolves, vampires, the powers of the gods, and a powerful love and passion that will sweep them up.... I have heard so many amazing reviews about this series, and considering how much I am a fan of mythology and especially when you mix it in with a steamy romance, I just can't resist for too long. So I decided to try Atlantis Rising at Audible, which I got a good deal for. Atlantis Rising is the first installment in the Warriors of Poseidan and captivated me from the first moment. The voice of the narration is Joshua Swanson, and at first I had a hard time with his inflections, but after a little while, I started to really like him quite a bit. There were some of the voices of the other characters I didn't like too much, but the main characters and narration of the story, he did a tremendous job at. There were many times I just wanted to stop everything that I was doing just to listen to this, but alas I have responsibilities, so there were times I had to push pause. From the first, I was captivated by this richly filled plot and the connection between Riley and Conlan was instantaneous, there was no long wait period, it happened instantly and their relationship only gets stronger the more they are around each other. It starts out pretty intense, on both sides of Riley and Conlan. We see Conlan after returning from being a prisoner, and then the story takes us to Riley who is fighting a inner battle of her own. They meet when they least expect to meet their future soul mate, but stranger things have happened. The story takes us along as the plot thickens, and events go from intense to mind blowing action. There is quite a lot of action that goes on, as well as mystery and intrigue, and there were many times I had no idea where the story was going to go next. It had a surprise at every corner, some good and some bad. The Characters in this story were such a delight to get to know. I feel like with a audio book, you get to know them more. I felt like there was so much emotion portrayed in the narration, it almost felt like you were actually in the story, and it leaves you with a sense of reality, when it really is just fiction--much to my disappointment LOL. Conlan, is the leader of his people, and has gone after the Tritan which has been stolen. When he goes to retrieve he comes across his mate. Conlan is very Alpha once he meets her, he is very possessive and commanding, and has the stereotype of a prince. However there was more to Conlan than met the eye. He had many vulnerabilities as well, he had recently suffered a trauma and so Conlan comes across as the "Tortured Male" type, but the author does a fantastic job of putting this character in. Its always a good thing when the characters seem real and human. Riley is a unique heroine, and I loved her character quite a bit. In the beginning you see how vulnerable she is at times, but you also see the inner strength that shines. She isn't weak or passionless, she just hides it better than most. Riley has some special talents, and is a empath, We have the introduction to her sister, who is so opposite from Riley it isn't even funny. Riley is tender hearted, compassionate, and loving. She can fight if the situation calls for it. The relationship between Riley and Conlan is complex and yet has a simplicity to it too. I enjoyed the journey they take us on, and the romance is sweet and full of sensuality. Overall I couldn't help but fall head over heels in love with Atlantis Rising. There was so much depth and characterization packed in this book!! It was a blast going on this adventure and learning of this world that Day has created. I just got the second book in the series, so I can't wait to read Ven's story. Atlantis Awakening here I come!!!

I enjoyed this book a great deal. If you believe in Soul-Mates and love at first sight you won't have a problem with how fast Riley and Conlan get together. Riley is an empath and doesn't see herself as someone who fights on the front line. She fights by helping those who have too many things working against them as a social worker. And she's had a really bad night. Conlan is the Prince of Atlantis and has gone through a very tragic experience for the last seven years. Although the High Priest of Atlantis says he's not compromised, Conlan isn't so sure. When Riley and Conlan's paths cross they will have to find the Trident, battle vampires, especially the goddess (Anubisa), save lives, and find out if being together will end or save everything they hold dear. Although this plot doesn't coincide what's been said about Atlantis, it is an enjoyable read. I hope that there are more details explained as the series moves forward.

Well i read the reviews and hoped it was a good book, but i gotta tell you it took me forever to read. It was one of the most drawn out long winded book i've read in a long time. I think if it was 100 pages instead of 273 it might have worked.

This was actually a lot of fun. The vampires and werewolves are pretty standard fortunately. Adding people from Atlantis was a nice twist. The characters were all pretty likable. I would recommend the entire series.
